All that sounds sensational. So... should I organise the strippers, or what?

MM and Charles....WELL DONE! I love it when you get service like that from an organisation that readily sees the obvious advantages. I for one was just happy to go to the games, but will be making an effort now to renew my membership to the cclc, go to the Kendall bar and get into it! Bring it on!

Just like everyone else has said, thanks for the great work Mick your efforts are very appreciated. And good on Charles and everyone at CCLC that has made this relationship possible. It's a huge win win situation for both parties. I seem to be one of the closest to Gosford and I visit the Leaguesy most weekends anyway, so I'm definitely going to be at everyone they put on for us and greatly benefit from their hospitality.
As for May 7, I'll be playing the pokies from 1:30 waiting for that Kendall Bar to open! Cant wait to see all you guys and don the Marinators gear!

Sounds like a good relationship developing between Leagues Club and Mariners supporters.
I'm a bit concerned about giving my hard-earned to a Rugby League outfit however, as that is why I'm not supporting the Newcastle Jets - due to their ARL affiliations.
Is this relationship endorsed by the Mariners, as they are sponsored by Mingara?
The parking offer is a good one, although I will no doubt travel by train so I can sink a few bevvies pre, during and post match!

The Leagues Club gives many thousands of dollars (in cash and in-kind) to hundreds of local sporting groups including football groups. Rugby League donations only form a very small percentage of their overall sporting budget. Charles, maybe you can clarify this more?

Hi again. Thanks for the response. As Mrcelery said we are not an NRL club. The term 'Leagues' aludes to the fact that we are a league of Clubs such as bowls, darts, snooker ect combined and not affiliated to just one. I check the page each day so please feel free with the questions. If I don't know I'll make up an answer. charlesf

So you dont want to give the club your "hard-earned" but will use it for parking?
I'd let it go sport...

So you dont want to give the club your "hard-earned" but will use it for parking? I'd let it go sport... Read carefully and you will see I didn't say that, and would not do that. Just because I don't like ARL doesn't mean I can't pass a compliment when they do something right. Doesn't mean I'd take advantage of that. I said I'll be going by train, so unless you can park railway carriages at the Club.....

Hi again. Thanks for the response. As Mrcelery said we are not an NRL club. Hmmm... with respect, methinks you made up that answer! Off their site: Directors R G Maher, OBE - Life Member. Founder, Patron and Life Member of Central Coast Rugby League. B R Cook - Patron of Gosford Rugby League Football Club. Patron, member and sponsor of Ourimbah/Wyoming Rugby League Football Club. R J Allen - Life Member and Past President of Central Coast Division Rugby League for 25 years. T O Andrews - Life Member Lakes United Rugby League Football Club. G A Robins - Life Member Erina Junior Rugby League Football Club. To be fair there are also: L J Maher - Rugby Union G A Clark - Australian Rules & Bowling R P Clark - Soccer I W Pannowitz - Swimming This suggests that historically it's a Rugby League Club that has seen the sense in broadening it's base. It would be interesting to see their Annual Report to see where it spends it's $500,000 on sports. Their website says: " CENTRAL COAST LEAGUES CLUB IS NOT ALIGNED TO ANY ONE CODE OF SPORT OR COMMUNITY INTEREST. THERE ARE 17 ACTIVE INTERNAL OR SUB CLUBS WITHIN THE LEAGUES CLUB, SERVING THE MANY AND VARIED INTERESTS OF OUR MEMBERS" Interestingly, Rugby League is not mentioned as a sub-club at all. On a related matter, tonight on NBN there was an article saying that the Central Coast is no chance of having an ARL side due to a Gold Coast bid. Which means no no-neck boofheads chopping up the ground! Good news for football if it means a Breakers Stadium-like playing surface!

Hmmm... with respect, methinks you made up that answer! Thanks for that in depth analysis Mr Celery! Like you I am not at all favoured to connections with Thugby League, BUT the important point here is that Charles on behalf of the club across the road is offering a very good relationship, with benefits for both parties! Perhaps: gift - equine animal - don't look dentally!!!! Ahh ... it's great to have you back in the football world, Mr Celery! Keep us on our toes ... PS. Will CityRail allow a bag of Celery on their southbound trains?

No chance of a Central Coast team for a long time now as the Gold Coast have been given competition entry for 2007.

The Gold Coast RL team is not official yet. If Singleton stumps up more cash he could push for a central Coast team again, although reading the press he seems to have lost interest in being part of any Central Coast bid.
Meet him once and he said he had no interest in real footbal which is a real shame as he has the money in the bank.

Hi lads, just to let you know that BJC from the Mariners was kind enough to round up some full team autographed posters. We also have 1 full team signed training jersey. All this for Mick to raffle along with the champagne baskets. I have 15 Bacardi breezer caps to give away to the first 15 into the Kendall, plus other odds and sods to give away. Couldn't get the full team jersey as they are not ready till Thursday, and we only got one for our display, which will be up for two weeks from Friday. The company we hire to do these displays are an award winning team. So a great photo opportunity for the whole group. I had a question on what was the player award, and was that anything we could help with, maybe a couple of buffet dinner vouchers?

I will give everyone who buys a t-shirt a raffle ticket for the prizes of the training strip and posters. We will draw it at half-time in our match. A dinner for two would be great as the Player's Award.

God....shirts, breezer caps, raffle tickets...I'm gonna have to line up from 1 to make sure I get my hands on all this stuff!
And with all the good work so many people have done, I think I'll be shouting as many beers for others as I drink!
I agree the dinner is a good idea for the marinators MoM. Maybe even at the Chinese restaurant in the leaguesy?

Hi, just to let you know that if any of you want to line your stomaches before hand. We have a special 'All You Can Eat Buffet' on from 11.30am. The special price for May is $9.99 for members $12.99 for non members. This is a really top notch buffet, and I'm not saying that because I work here. I know because the wife has banned me from going there. A touch of jealousy maybe?
