WT is right on the money when he outlined what its about. as far as 'lets get a serious squad as well to vs their serious squad'...thats already happening, those 2 teams are called the cc mariners and syd fc!
Mick, I understand your desire to play in a mariners CWC shirt....fair enough too. If you can organise that then lets go that way!
Would also be kinda cool though to have a 'Marinator Player' t shirt to keep don't you think? How about if we try to include it in the package of 'players entry fee' ?

Bye WT! Who will we have refereeing? I'd do it but the Marinators would win by about 10000 goals so I'd better stick to forcing my way into the team. Be good if we could get the jerseys or even the training jerseys. Good to see the rivalry hasn't affected anything like this happning, yet

What you are saying about a memento for playing in the match is fair enough Lou, it'd be another great piece of memorabilia. There would however be team photos before the match and for the Marinators a winners photo with us all touching the cup. That would be pretty good! If we can get something from the club, WCC, some kind of replicas, or cool yellow rbk training shirts then we'd have to wear them.

Bling Bling girl (their marquee) would surely cost more than Marinator Man.
MM is free...he pops up wherever the people of the coast need him most!

insurance - mr celery when he logs on will help us Past experience has been the insurance is not all that prohibitive, particularly if you are already a registered player and covered that way. For the Rowdies tournament we went through the local Soccer Federation, but paid the money directly to Norwich Insurance if memory serves me.
