Well that was awesome fun. With one exception the crowd got behind us in a big way, and I honestly believe we lifted the team. What was disappointing was the Marinators turn out. With 30 of us we could have absolutely lifted the roof off that joint. But with 10 we only managed to shake it.
Even though most of the people who even read these forums at the moment were there, the rest of you should be pucking ashamed.

We have to put this down as an experience and make sure a similar thing doesn't happen to the Marinators Charity Shield on July 16th.Every one that reads these forums ...you gotta get the word out to everyone to come along on july 16th to support the Marinators!Venue will be announced asap, but at least lock in that date! That date will also be used for the launch of the Marinators website, Marinators Jerseys, Marinators logo, Marinators banners (hopefully) etc The launch will be after the Marinators Charity Shield game, and it will be in the Leagues club. Thats a Saturday avo/evening folks, so a good excuse to get out for the avo with the kiddies, grab a bite to eat in the bistro and catch up with all the marinators and dare we say ....some Mariners?

Good to see you at the 'sub committee' meeting Omni. We'll all be at church on Sunday games too, just a different type of church, where the holy water costs you $5 a cup! (no offence meant Omni)

Puckers....lol.....your a funny f***er Froggy! Gotta say thou, the Rhinos were very poor and if it wasn't for the keeper Sydney would have won 8-2! I was trying to understand the rules of the game but kept getting confused? I think we did lift the team a bit, and the kids in the crowd loved us!

Yeah mate it was more since more people said they would go and didn't (including personal friends not just forums names) that I was a bit angry when I got home. I'm sure if I did an actual count of people who confirmed 'yes' I would be proved wrong but it really seemed like we would have a decent contingent there.
What added to it was the fact Sydney got more than double the turn-out for a piss up watching the socceroos match on friday. We had a drink before and I was up for it afterwards as well at the hockey so there wasn't a big difference.
I saw the hockey as an excuse to get together firstly, a way to get our name out secondly (wouldnt affect you because the central coast community isn't in your interests- fair enough) and as something to watch thirdly.
Anyway, I'm well and truly over it, and am looking forward to getting it right at the charity shield.

report from the sydney home page:
Bears 3 - Rhinos 2 ( 12-6-05 ) Tonight ( 12-6-05 ) we saw the Bears win in OT 3-2 against the Erina Rhinos in Erina, the Bears had to contend to a very large and vocal crowd for the Rhinos and with the second period ending 2-2 it was all left to the third period, the Bears eventually getting the winning goal in OT and finishing the game with 27 shot's for 3 goals and only conceding 7 shot's on the Bears goalie, the Bears seem to be able to put plenty of shot's on goal and with 2 games just gone from this weekend the Bears have had 55 shot's on goal for 7 goals scored, not a bad effort........game report to follow.
nothing as yet on the rhinos page
