Has anybody noticed a lull in excitement around here or in general? Its just 4 days until we host a final of sorts and usually the forum is buzzing and you here bits and pieces on the radio etc.
When the WCC games were on the forum exploded with like 100 new people in a week, I'm sort of surprised the same thing isnt happening to an extent with the season around the corner?
Is the media over the Marinators? With the WCC it was like the A-League show was coming to town for a week and we were the star attraction, everyone wanted a piece of us. now it's like we're the same old same old.
*sigh* am i just imagining this?

I think everyone is just waiting for the actual A-League to start! I'm sure everyone will be up for it on Saturday.
I reckon when we play the Jets on Sept 4 the media will be all over the Marinators, SBS, radio, fox etc.

Well a little birdy told me that foxtel will be on the scene at bay 16 this saturday to get some promo shots. it will set in then that we are close. Wear lots of yellow folks!

I'm picking up excitement in my circles that we're in (another) final but surprised at how few people knew day, time or even that it's in Gosford. Hopefully things like the back page of today's Express (which DOES get read) and further local rags in the next couple of days will help.

I'm f***ing excited, can't wait to see the Mariners again, it's been 2 and a half weeks, too f***ing long to wait!!!
i don't care if it's pre season, who or where we're playing, I just wanna see th Mariners again!

Well, I'm definately excited for this Final!
I have been told that a workmate is coming along to see the buzz at the Stadium first hand, and I told him to get over to Bay 16 with his mates and let the vocal chords loose!
Also a son of another workmate was there when we played Sydney FC and he reckons he saw me there in the Marinators jersey going f**king mental with the singing. He thought I was quiet and reserved, he he. I'm told he'll be there too with his mates. Yes roll on the season proper, but let's win this piece of silverware on offer first.

i'm suffering withdrawls but after having bought my tickets on Tues, it seems to be getting better each day I get closer to Sat 5:30...... I'm sorry that I can't sit with you guys because you always look like you're having so much fun (reminds me of games in Europe) but how the hell can you see anything from there?  ? All you see is the keeper's butt... wait a sec maybe I will sit there...  Just kidding. Like the sideline view better. |

I've been in Fiji for a week and internet access was ridiculously expensive and slow. Back now, catching up on all the Forum posts and raring to go! Will be attending with another old Newcastle Rowdie - Simon, for those who know him.

All excitement this morning. Started: Noticed the wattle blossoms erupting driving to work and found myself doing "Come on ye yellows, come on ye yellows!!".
