Mate, that's uncanny! I was driving from Sydney to Newcastle and saw all the wattles in full bloom between the two Gosford Exits. I thought: 'Hmmmmm, would it be too wanky for the Marinators to adopt the wattle as it's 'official flower'. It's typically Aussie, would be a good reminder of the start of the proper football season, and especially if we won the first ever pre-season trophy.

Hey, it may even replace celery - imagine a sea of waving wattle in Bay 16!
