I think Hutcho might have run over to take the piss out of you lot.
175/250 - so what it was a least 10x what you usually bring and a step in the right direction.

I think the Marinators really lifted, great atmosphere, everybody was having a good time. Drums rocked, and we alway love improvisation - 'Ooh! Aah!' was a big hit!
As for the game....from what I recall the goal was a bit of a pity, momentary lapse in conentration to miss that tackle, and I was a little surprised that it got past Danny (though to be honest I can't remember if Danny was trying to cover the angle or if he was worried about another attacker....shoot me down in flames anybody if I'm being harsh on Danny there, memory's a little hazy. That was my thought at the time though - but tell me if I'm wrong).
Danny did make some brilliant saves though, jets could've easily scored at some other times.
I think we were playing a damn sight better than we have been in other games. Still not back to our former glory, but at least they fought hard, and maintained some structure all over the field as well as having good moments in attack and defence. Spirited game, which is what we like the see in the derby.
God it hurt when they scored....I think all of Bay 16 stood there just staring at the squadron....
You know what's kind of funny? The match was a draw, yet the squadron were celebrating like it was a victory while a lot of the mariners supporters still felt like we had lost (though the fact that the goal came so late in the game probably had a lot to do with the moods of both sides). Really, WE should've been the ones to be celebrating a draw like it was a win considering our streak lately! I found that kind of amusing...
Still, at least the scum didn't get on top of us - and good to see they brought a reasonable amount with them.
We played like Mariners, but we just couldn't secure that win. That bloody goalpost! We still can improve to match our form last year, I think - but we've shown that we're not going to sleep through the season.
Walking away with a draw still hurt like hell, though...when we were so close to a win.........
I've gotta see a replay of that last red card.......it was an interesting decision, and there's some divided opinion on it.

We were celebrating like crazy at the end because we didn't have to leave the central coast in disgrace and we also stayed above last place There was approx 250 jets fans in our area last night not including all those around the stadium. Mike Cockerill commented on the large travelling contingent of away fans which is by far the best for a derby match during the regular home and away season of the A-league between our two clubs. (not including semi finals last year). Between our clubs, yes. Sydney filled 2-3 bays when they came up here in round 11 (i think) and then in round 18 we took over a thousand down there. These are the benchmarks you to be aspiring to and for us to be striving to match in future. Forgive us for not being either mentally retarded or on the sugar high of our lives. Because of our achievements last year, we look at ourselves as top 3 if not championship contenders. A draw at home against the worst team is two points dropped and not even a sstep towards the top four. There were plenty of positives yes, and a look around the forum will uncover all of those, but in the moment of the final whistle it was another game less that we had to start our charge. Considering you were telling us how Milton was going to lead you to an easy victory during the week, it's surprising that the result excited you so much? He did nothing, and you drew with the most out of form team of the comp. You STILL HAVEN'T WON SINCE JANUARY. Did you think when you impregnated your sister to celebrate your last win, that you'd be welcoming the baby before the next win? You also got two players sent off. All your ridiculous celebrations suggested was that you are more than happy with 7th spot on the ladder.

Tiger we were very happy because we had absolutley everything go against us. The reff was a joke, two penalties waved away, two red cards, every coast fan anywhere near our bay bagging the crap out of us yet we managed to pull of a draw even with these odds against us. Off course we were happy we had escaped a loss and your team really should have held on even though they were well out played by the jets team. We left the stadium feeling like winners and you guys left feeling like losers. Guys this is where the passion of the fans should come through. You guys were great during the game but you need to keep going even after. On the way out of the stadium all i heard was the voices of jets fans. Tiger, milton didn't have his best game but i think your forgetting that he was the one who threaded the pass through 3 mariners defenders to set up joel griffiths to score. He also would have had another one if not for the brilliance of vukovic. Plus we also weren't bottom of the table so even though we only managed a draw against the worst team in the competition we could always take satissfaction that our derby rivals are still stuck at the bottom of the table. The noise on tv when the jets scored is also quite loud one again congrats to the away fans and hope you guys can try and match our efforts when we play at EAS.

Match your efforts, OK we shall do that.
step 1: forget what it's like to win step 2: earn a draw that does nothing to a allieve a disappointing league position step 3: celebrate to our fullest because draws are the best we can hope for!

OK, we will try to match your efforts - can 75% of the Mariners travelling support stay at home when we next have to endure the barren wastlenads of EAS please.
No one over the age of 16 can go either.
Make sure you throw lots of litter on the pitch to mess it up
If you are under 13, you can wear surgical masks like the little F-troopers (Millwall, 80's) from Newcastle wore. That got the interest of the 3 ex Chelsea who were sitting in front of me. Dangerous thing to do boys.
Oh and can everyone wear their best Lowes stuff as well

the goal was actually a deflection from stringer's sliding tackle so it left danny wrong-footed Thanks mate, I must've missed that. Well that explains how it snuck in then! Bit frustrating when it was only by a stroke of poor luck that we had to settle for a draw - the flip side is that it's good that we came so close to a win and it was ONLY by a bit of poor luck that we didn't.

Remember guys we haven't won a game all year (like you guys) and we still managed to get that amount of travelling supporters. That is dedication and we were outinging you guys through certain areas of the match but but even though we started getting quite at some stages nothing kills off the support of the squadron and we lived up to our reputation of never giving up. The only problem with you guys is that you go too quite when a goal is scored against you. This was evident at the semi final in gosford last year aswell. But at saturdays game you were loud and consistent and then we scored and you completely dropped off again. BTW i failed to see too much of an age difference between the squadron and marinators I think you guys actually think you are older then what you are.
Out of curiosity who was the louder at the mariners v sydney game in gosford last season? Was it the cove or the marinators???

Fish you have absolutely no right to tell me to f##K off. I understand that you have been a key figure in building the the marinators which i applaud you for. However when i feel the need to give my own group of supporters their credit when it is due you seem to be offended. Do you feel threated by the squadron which does seem to be striving forward in leaps and bounds this year or are you insecure amongst your own supporters group. The majority of mariners fans have been fantastic and applauded our away support and im not sure if you read all the threads but i have also given high praise towards the marinators for their efforts on saturday night. But wait i make ONE tiny criticism of the marinators and you get all offended. I don't care if you feel threated by another supporters group you have no right to tell someone to leave a public forum because they dont necessarily agree with your thoughts. Geez even greenpole has been cool over the last few days. Wake-up to yourself mate the squadron is growing in size so instead of becoming worried start enjoying the banter between two successful supporters groups.
