Hi all,
New to the threads but long time supporter of the CC Mariners!
I was really disgusted to see what took place on Sunday in Bay 16 & Bay 17. It appeared someone at the bottom of Bay 16 was throwing bottles at a young ball boy. Whilst this is total crap and the security at the ground really needs a good boot in the back side lets not take matters into our own hands.
After a member of the Marinators marched down to kick the person out a verbal altercation between bays 16 & 17 started. To cap this off the abuse was being yelled over the megaphones that are bought.
Here is where I make my point and really open to anyone who wants to tell me otherwise. It is great that the Marinator support is growing hence we need to spread out over bays 15 & 17 but I think we need to all remember we are going for the same team We act as one, sing as one etc. If someone shouts something out that is not the norm, I don't understand why half the bay yells D#$k Head. They are having a crack are'nt they? Why make the example of them. Who knows it may be the next song we sing.
With the Sydney FC game this weekend we all know how vocal the Sydney bay is. Lets all pull together, unite and show the Mariners and everyone else at the ground and all TV the Marinators are NOT a forced to be reckoned with.
Go the Mariners !!

These issues have been discussed and analysed in other topics on this forum.
I understand you are new to posting here but it did not need a new thread. You could have just replied to that thread.
Cheers Mick

Some comments are rather funny if you look back on it. great call alicia - that was interesting reading some of the eraly people on that welcome have seemed to disappear also the most interesting reading was this: Well to sum it up.... I'm back on the forum! I had a major dummy spit after the Newcastle game at the stadium and the police's attitude to us and had previously walked away from a job in law enforcement and security and did not like what I saw the Police were doing then. I had just about given the Marinators up, when I thought long and hard and realised I missed the atmosphere of bay 16 too much. I was coaxed by some former workmates into going to the Sydney game, and saw the crowd they pulled and more importantly, the Marinators giving their all for the Mariners. Also very impressed by the very enthusiastic response the players gave the Marinators at the end of the game, and thought, hell, I should be there! Kudos also to guys/girls like auburnmariner, marinermick, wyomingtiger, fish, goldenboy and mscanada. Their collective wit and enthusiasm for the Marinators and Mariners really are a bonus to the groups. I have missed the chant leadership of the likes of froggy and AM, the great comraderie of the group and all the characters in it. So, from 16 October I will be back to the Kendall and Bay 16. It's not often I am talked around a decison but there's always exceptions. Will shout AM, MM, WT, GB and Fish a drink when I see them next, OK P.S. Pieman: Been to your Tuggerah shop today and paid $15 for the bus trip to Newcastle (1 seat). Gave my name and number. didn't know pete was on the verge of giving by the way i don't think i ever got that beer did you tiger, fish or auburn? looks like you have some shouting to do sunday pete

But welcome cmariners It is because early on we realised that to avoid: a) total chaos, b) getting a bad name with the club, c) getting most of is kicked out, it was necessary to self-regulate. This was reinforced when we met with the club and discussed how we could sing what we wanted but meet the club, stadium and importantly police requirements. At its best the dickhead call is a way of moderating what happens in the Bays. Done well it allows the good chanmts/songs to survive the bad to die.

Nothing can top the dickheading on the bus to newy...
The dickhead chant isn't designed to prevent anything new or 'against the grain', its used when someone says/chants something innapropriate, wrong, or out of the spirit of the current situation. It isn't a tool used to reinforce Marinators Elitism thats for sure. Other than that, welcome to the forum!

Oh indeed, uurgghh.. goldjets... >Welcome to the Marinators forum Cmariners!< Yeah throwign bottles at the ball children isnt good. Arent there usually a couple extra security guys aroudn that area during the games? i sometimes see them standing at the back of the bay. maybe someone should ask if they could move a couple of their guys down the front of the bay, i think they woudld get a better view of all the people. Also becuase of that crap someone started about the two supporters groups trying to start a big fight for tomorrow, id assume that they would have extra security just as a precaution.
