Last season Tommy P created 6 goals, this season he created none why isn't anyone giving him shit? I'll tell ya why no-one's giving him shit - cause they don't notice. Kwassy tried to prove himself after realising his form had slipped lately. He should have laid low and no-one would have noticed as much. Some other players seem to have gotten away with just that. If you don't shoot no-one sees you miss.

Thats exactly what has been happening, he cops the criticism because he is the only one creating a shooting oppurtunity

The thing is, he shouldn't have had anything to prove. He kept the team afloat for most of the season (maybe him & Mori as well). Who would have cared if he did nothing for the last 2-3 weeks?

Dont worry hoover, I know what you did at the game, in the adelaide scarf and the flag, was only for a laugh. And I tell you what, it was f***ing funny mate. Boring f***ing game, and you made mine, and a lot of other peoples, night all worth it.
Anyone who saw it than more than a joke and for a laugh needs a better sense of humour. And bakery5, its pretty f***ed that you would make such a harsh comment about someone like that. You, as well as the ref, dont know what your f***ing doing.

I thought the game was made better by the big send-off from bay 16. Match also seemed boring not just by level of playing shown by at least half of the mariners side, but also that the match started 30 minutes late. No idea if Kwasnik did or didn't, or if he did how exaclty how he was provoked as I was off to catch a train - didn't want to wait another 30 minutes... so I will not comment on that. But I personally think that he all he really did was run around a lot, shot poorly and not look for the passing option. When he did look to pass, the ball either went out, to an Adelaide player, or Simon ended up doing a superhuman effort to get the ball or earn a throw-in. No wonder he kept falling at times - kept on getting double-man marked at times, and always kept running. And did a hell lot better at passing the ball than Kwasnik. And him helping in forcing the goal - not all him. Firsty, Simon had been doing that for ages, with a decent success rate against defenders, so he gave it a go - at least he did the right thing there. The keeper ran a bit to the right in the oppsite direction to see an oncoming Simon. With nowhere to go, he panicked and kicked straight to Tommy... and we all know the rest. If Kwasnik got the ball there, I seriously doubt he could have scored. And had he scored the penalty - would ahve Adelaide scored the second? And hasn't Kwasnik been the lone striker for quite a few matches? Maybe that's why he gets more chances then anyone else. Tommy played far more games in season one than season two - so 6 goals and then 3 in less game time is not bad at all. Also (getting negative) Spencer and Osman sucked. Possibly worse than Kwasnik. Standouts at the match - Wilko Gumpy Tommy (duh) Simon Vuko quite satisfied with and Trott was good to - only goal he should of saved was the first one, second 50/50 and the defence gave him no chance - 3 final passes were to unmarked players.

I can't see Kwasnik as ever being more than an impact player from the bench in this side. He simply doesnt find the back of the net as much as he should, and that's a fact. Anyone watching the games knows that he is not up to the standard of striker that we need to be successful. However, I dont blame him for this, he was put in a situation where he was always going to struggle, and I do think he gave it his best. Then all the questions of his ability began to arrise in previous weeks and I think this made him less determined, hence recent poor performances. As for his "bird" to the crowd, that is inexcusable. When people pay money to watch professionals play any game, and they give a half-hearted effort, I believe they are entitled to yell whatever they want about that persons performance. And as a professional, they should just cop it on the chin and walk off the pitch. Hopefully next year we begin the season with a class striker and go on to win the league.

What was yelled out had nothing to do with his performance that game, it was personal abuse which is not acceptable from anyone

Being someone who never looses his temper, and who never swears, and who always applauds my team whatever the situation, I believe it is wrong to be mean to the players. They try so hard and some people are so nasty

DJ, so what if they get called a c**t? i referee rugby league each weekend and the s**t i get called is sometimes far worse. But i can walk off after each game without retaliation, sometimes i do referee poorly and if people want to abuse me, thats fine, because at the end of the day i gave them the opportunity to. If you put in a good performance and try your best, then no-one can fault you. If Kwasnik can't show some self control then maybe he should see someone for help. Don't get me wrong, I think he's not a bad player, but he is also a role model to many younger kids on the coast. Is that the image that we want them to accept of sportspeople?

anyone who abuses a player after the game is an egghead.
whether or not you like the way kwassy plays, and whether he's a professional or not, he does not deserve personal abuse. from my point of view he gives 110% effort but needs a little guidance (?) He is, no doubt, his own worst critic and it's obvious his confidence was affected by all the criticism. I cannot blame him for giving a very sly finger to the idiot who abused him (corroborated by a family member who was close by) when he should have been applauding him.
this game certainly brought out some real wankers in the crowd. We had one sitting near us in bay 5 whose face I have never seen before, but shall never forget, who kept shouting BORING! Don't bother next year, mate, if that's the way you feel...your mates were even embarrassed by you!

I enjoyed hoovers antics.
the reason i left bay 16 was to go talk to some of the adelaide fans about the aleague etc. Some of the fans were from sydney.
and to the person who thru the bottle, you gave the lady you hit an egg on her head. i know who it is, and they have posted in this thread. get over yourself dickcheese, hoover was havin a bit of fun, and as bear said, he made my night more entertaining.
