To Mr Marinators,
Best of luck in 2007 and beyond. Whilst I won't be sharing your journey, I will be applauding you guys from afar as you continue to represent our club on game day.
I have learnt the Marinator culture isn't for all - disappointing, though I move on.
It is imperitive that we all remember we are in this together.
See you on game day from the stands.
Kindest regards,

Marinerfreak, it is a bit odd that you find Marinator "culture" not for you, on the day that the first meeting this season is to be held. You seem to pick up on culture by very few cues. Come along this evening to the launch and meet a few people, and then you can make statements like that with more basis. A couple of people venting themselves on an open Mariners forum do not the Marinators make, no matter what positions they may hold, or not!

MarinerFreak, I respect your opinion and views of course, but I would also love to know more about where you 'learnt that Marinator culture isn't for all...." as I haven't seen you in the Kendall, at away games, on the bus travelling to games, winery tours, golf days etc? Come and say hello in the Kendall as Kevrenor suggested and lets have a beer. (see how nice I can be...letting you buy me a beer n all ! LOL

I have learnt the Marinator culture isn't for all - disappointing, though I move on. It is imperitive that we all remember we are in this together. See you on game day from the stands. Kindest regards, Maybe if you did not come rushing, like a bull at a gate, in with opinions flying left right and centre, and took some time to understand you may have found Marinator culture IS for all. So far you have only experienced the forum where members call a spade a spade. When you get to meet the people behind the avatars you may find that those having strong differing opinions here are really good friends in the Kendall. I think tolerance along with the ability to say what you think without fear is a very strong point of this organisation. It caters for all types, with many differing tastes. You will not be applauding us from afar. Some of us will be sitting next to you, many more than you may think. Learning what is behind the obvious may surprise you. Not just in seating. We do not require written applications nor do we want written resignations. Your thread will be seen as someone "taking their bat and ball and going home". Not at all useful, apart from being an indication of depression. I hope this is not the case, it is something you would not wish on a Newcastle supporter. However, if you have difficulties when someone disagrees with you and tells you to "chill out", which will happen if you are a newbie throwing around lots of posts and opinions, maybe then you do not have that tolerance. My suggestion, have a cup of tea , a bex, a good lie down, then come back here and tell those who dare to disagree with you that they are bunch of uneducated slobs. Much more fun. ;D "Marinators" is a state of mind and a yellow shirt.

I think he may have meant that he won't be involved with The Marinators - which is why he addressed this Thread in the Marinators Section of the Mariners Fans' Forum. He hasn't closed his account yet, has he?

C'mon all. Let's get over it. Can't win 'em all over. Olive branch and copious explanations of who we are and what we stand for have been given. It's up to the dude to decide from here. Personally, I reckon he's making a huge mistake, and rejecting what could be many potential friends. But it's his choice. Damn. I've prolonged this thread.

One thing I like about this forum is the reasonable debate, also mixed with humour. I guess it could seem a bit hostile/overwhelming if you jump in and make alot of statements, rather than wait a while and get to see how it works. See that differing opinions and natured jokes are not personal attacks. Oh well...
