Friday night, Jared Keens copped a knee to the face and was badly injured during a clash between Gosford and Wyoming 18s. The situation was severe and ended up going to Gosford Hospital and then flown by Helicopter to Royal North Shore. I understand he is fine now, but has undergone a few operations and it was a large amount of time where his state was uncertain if he would get through or not. there are a few more operations to come. I've talked to his teammates and they have told me how severe the situation was and that he is now resting in hospital and is giving cheek to his mates already.
lets wish the lad better and hope for a speedy recovery.

Get well Keensy. Sounds like a dreadful injury.
Does anyone know how long he is at RNS for, as it would be nice if some of the Marinators could pay a visit?

I've got Tuesday off uni if people have time free on Tuesday we could do a Marinators trip, assuming Keensy would want to see us!
I said it somewhere else: don't get well soon, get well now.

all the best to keensy. im one of his best mates. have been since kindagarten. just some more backgroud info for u all. flown to RNS about midnight on friday and was taken in for immediate brain surgery due to a clot forming to his brain. pressure was building up behind his eye and to release the pressure the docs took a piece of his skull out and put a drainer in to stop it from hapening again. his cheek bone was completely shattered and hence he will need plastic surgery etc to fix it all up. and bcoz the cheek bone holds up the eye socket, one eye is slightly lower then the other one. so this will all be fixed up in surgery. this surgery was due to happen tonite however, having talking to his sister stacey today at school they were unsure whether they would undergo the surgery today because he had deteriorated and become weak so it was to risky. also the docs beleive there may be more bleeding in the brain and they may have to do brain surgery again to stop another clot from forming.
ill try to keep information updated for you all as i hear from stacey.
as to how long he is expected to be at RNS for? unsure. however he still remains in ICU (intensive care) and hence only family are able to visit. i no us boys from school are keen to head down to see him but we will have to wait for him to be put into a ward. then he faces rehab, so he could be there for a while.
anyways all the best.
