It was certainly great to see so many new faces in the bar and also have so many new sign ups to the Marinators Club. I guess a few people saw what the Marinators Club is able to achieve and jumped in. Fantastic! Peter and his mates had an absolute blast!

Hey, did anyone get a chance to ask John Filan if his presence had anything to do with him not signing for Sydney?

John Filan was simply invited by Peter Turnbull and told what a great set up the Mariners AND the Marinators have, ;D in the same manner as the rest of Peter's mates were invited.

Hey, did anyone get a chance to ask John Filan if his presence had anything to do with him not signing for Sydney? Maybe he could replace Danny when he's on Olyroo duty?

Hey, did anyone get a chance to ask John Filan if his presence had anything to do with him not signing for Sydney? I had the pleasure of chatting to Filan for a short while. He is in the country looking to get into coaching and basically seeing what the A-League is all about. He checked out the Sydney FC set up and trained with them for a while - decided not to sign on. I told him about our brilliant young goalkeepers and Danny - future Aussie number 1 - I don't know how to fit both Filan and Crawley in the same coaching staff!

On the 'mad monday' bus with J.C after the GF loss, he said he wanted to do the same thing, in setting up a GoalKeeper Academy. talked in detail about what was available on the Coast in regards to the market with only Darryl Darke being the only bloke offering this type of specialised training in conjunction with Lightning and that J.C's experience and resume would be an excellent marketing tool, but alas nothing doing to date Though I note now that Andre has incorparated a Goal Keeping course into his Soccer-Pro Academy, I think the keeper from The Entrance is one of his mates and does most of it, not sure?

JC's academy is on the coast as well as areas of sydney. Honeysoy and her visual communications business did the flyers for him.
