After discussion on the fanzine and a presentation by northernspirit last Tuesday night (strategic planning) those attending unanimously (less one) voted to trial the fanzine for season three.
Under the guidance of Scott Weigand (northernspirit) there will be ten issues printed - one for every home game. Hopefully an eleventh come semi time and twelfth come grand final time.
The fanzine will be cost neutral and have no impact on Marinator funds.
Scott will design and edit the fanzine but we are in need of an editorial team for the Marinators including a photographer (floss?)
The team will be responsible for: - Contributing and editing of the Marinators website - Contributing to the Marinators fanzine - Helping distribute the fanzine
We are also looking for people to help distribute the fanzine.
Note that distribution will not be in the Kendall Bar, but outside the stadium. Marinators will be able to download the document on the Marinators website from the day before the game. We also envisage that Marinators print a few out themselves to be distribute in the Kendall Bar.
If you are interested please indicate so below or PM Tiger or LouMacari

Contributing to the Marinators fanzine I will not be able to distribute generally but can download and print at my expense copies for hand out: a) obvious fans on train trip up/walk to station b) on a personal basis around Bay 7 and media c) Coasties at work

so to summarise what is required:
* MARINATORS NEWS (Someone to write a peice on news from the Marinators on the website, the club, merchandise anything else relevant) * MARINATORS PHOTOS (Photos of Marinators members, The Bay, away travel etc) * MATCH PREVIEW (Someone to write a preview of the match) * THE AWAY TEAM (Someone to write about the team the Mariners will be playing in the match)
As a one off, i will need the Marinators club application form so i can put it in there as well.
Also soon i will open a new thread (mods if you can make it sticky when you see it) with information about how people can write letters to the editor for the editorial

If you are interested please indicate so below or PM Tiger or LouMacari There is no Tiger. We are generally looking to expand the website to bigger and better things this year, so as well as the fanzine, any potential contributors for that, even very part time, should note their interest or contact Jeff, myself or Scott.

My girlfriend Leisa was already planning to take snaps of the Marinators throughout the year and will happily contribute her shots to the fanzine and website.
She is a budding photographer with a digital SLR, noice!

I'm interested; will bring a camera along any time a notable photo-op is likely, eg. F3 Derbies, away games, tifos, more meet-and-greets(??), visiting tours of duty... Another idea i had was to find out who is likely to be interviewed in each upcoming issue and try to get a shot of them to accompany the article.
I see distributors being the most difficult job to fill, as it is likely to interrupt a lot of fans' pre-match preparation rituals. How many would be needed? Would under-18s perhaps be best suited?

I think you would need a couple of distributors at each entrance to the ground but obviously at least one person at each point.

Being a non drinker happy enough to head over earlier and do some distribution, as far as the distribution goes I assume we have the necessary approval from the football club and FFA.

Scott I'm happy to contribute with previewing either the match or the Away team, sorry I'm obviously not able to do this one, can't really help with ditribution though given I have to be in the ground before gates open anyway.
