Thanks to DJ and Auburn for the trivia night, which I think was a great success! Cheers to MarinerMum also for turning up early and helping with the room. Congrats to Mick's table for winning, lucky you had the best sub-committee members on there!

Anyone still disputing the square root of 25??
THE ANSWER IS 5
You Can Also Square Negative Numbers Have a look at this:
If you square 5 you get 25: 5 × 5 = 25 But you could also square -5 to get 25: -5 × -5 = 25 (because a negative times a negative gives a positive) So the square root of 25 can be 5 or -5
There can be a positive or negative answer to a square root!
But when people talk about "the" square root they usually mean just the positive one.
And when you use the radical symbol √ it always means just the positive one.
Example: √36 = 6 (not -6)

The question was grand finals, not premierships. by the way grand finals and premierships are the same thing i wasn't there so have nothing other than an academic interest in this, but i'll jump in and say that no, they're not the same thing. between 1912 and 1925 the premiership was only determined by grand final if the top two on the table were level on points. souths won 3 premierships that were not determined by grand finals - 1914, 1918 and 1925. they won another in 1909 when balmain forfeited the grand final, so they won the premiership by default, though wikipedia says "Balmain refused to play the final in protest to the game being held as a curtain-raiser to a Kangaroos v Wallabies match. Souths played, kicked off, scored & were declared premiers." so that's 17 grand final victories. the nearest competition is st george who won 15 premierships, all by grand final victory. so souths *have* won the most grand finals, even if you knock off the default result in 1909. so... what was the question?

I can't remember the exact question, but I think it was a trick question, because it included all grades, not just 1st division.
