After all the success we've had thus far and with recent speculation about our coaches long term future and the uncertainty of several coaching positions around the league I think we need to express our support at extending his current deal to last the 5 year franchise.Lawrie has taken an entirely new side and turned them into the pride of the coast by playing attractive and entertaining football.Speculation surrounded our inclusion in the league but from day one he has stood fast to all the death riders and vowed we had the capability to be champions.Along with his staff and squad he has ignited football on the coast and instilled a sense of pride for the area and its growing fan base.I feel with Lawrie at the helm our long term future is bright and would love to see his current deal extended. With early results on the board our club needs to be proactive in securing his long term future and thwart rivals looking to recover from there own poor appointments. If you feel the same way please sign on below and Ill take it to the club and let them know how we feel about securing the most sought after coach in the league.

Sign him on to a long-term contract, pay him as much as the club can afford and give him as much money for (re)signing players as the club can afford

For those that are unsure he is contracted for 3 years but is looking at extending to 5.I just want the club to do something now rather than in 2 years

If it is money, maybe the fans can chip in with a few bob to keep him.
His ability is immense but he has the stature and character to become a Shankelyesque figure for football on the CC.
Whatever it takes

I think if you look at the history Lawrie is not like most of the other coaches in the league. I think you would find that Lawrie was involved in setting up from the word go and not just employed as a manager the way other clubs signed managers and players. What I am trying to say is that Lawrie is not just a coach or manager but is a solid part of the Mariners club. I would like to think that his next move apart from representative coaching should be onto the board of directors. In the meantime if he wants a five year contract, give it to him.

"oh, ya cannae shove ya granny off the bus ya cannae shove ya granny off the bus oh, ya canae shove ya granny, cos she's ya mammy's mammy ya cannae shove ya granny off the bus"
To translate from the Scots, he's one of us, he's part of us, he made us what we are! Call it hero worship, if you like.

He has done a fantastic job for the club and lets hope he stays loyal to this club and stays here, it will be tough to find a manager to replace him

Laurie must stay, he was coach of the year at his first season at Spirit and come Sunday week will surely be in his 1st of many seasons at the Mariners.
