I was wondering if anyone knows what’s happening with Nick Mrdja? I’ve heard really good things about him, but have never seen him play. I’ve been reading the latest injury reports, but it’s always so vague when referring to Mrdja…
Apparently he is a chance to be ready for the start of the season, but how ready could he be seeing as he has missed an entire year of Football. What are your thoughts???

he's back in 'light' training. We'll see if he can get back in, the way Kwassy & SP are playing he'll have to work for it.

I think Mrdja should start on the bench.

Have heard through the grapevine, he is one of the most disliked players in the league given his actions on the Newcastle player last pre-season.
Might be best he stays injured, certainly wouldn't want to make his comeback at Newcastle, they might kick him all the way back down the coast. So might some of the supporters?

Why, if Mrdja is supposed to be trying to get back on track, was he seen tucking into a 'Maccas' meal (Incl. fries and coke) with his girlfriend during this week? Hmmmm...'food of champions' huh!

Based on previous times I have seen him, he would prove to be a hand full for opposition defences. He would us great punch up front with Pondlejak running off him. Similar role to Petrie with fresher legs.

i look forawrd to seeing him in action. From last season pre season he seemed to be really creating alot of trouble for opposing defences.

From what I saw of him last year with the hattricks, we really need his finishing! I think we could have put a few more chances away with him last year (and last night) - but last thing I saw was he is "running straight lines" and at least 4 weeks away.

On the way back from Orange we stopped at Maccas in Sydney and the team bus pulled up just after us and the entire squad were tucking into Maccas meals. Obviously did no harm as we haven't lost since.

So what if other players dislike him, I don't think it'd be because of that, those things happen in football. I doubt other players would like Costanzo & Valkanis, but why would they care?

Everything in moderation!! excellent - i'm going to snort just a short line of speed before drinking only a few double scotches and driving only a little bit over the speed limit down the wrong way on a one-way street! ;D ;D ;D but seriously, balanced diet - if you're eating well 95% of the time you can afford to eat the occasional bit of junk food. especially if you're working hard on your fitness. nicky's got his career to play for, and fans who would love to see him get back to his 05-06 PSC form. he'll get there!

An interesting accusation about his popularity. presume you have some sort of evidence to back that up??
Quite understand him not being too popular with the few remaining scum fans but why on earth would he be unpopular with anyone else given he hasnt actually played in the A League yet!

Id imagine once he puts the yellow shirt on and runs around banging in the goals well all sing his praises again.I dont think its a dislike just a little bit of frustration but hed have to be feeling frustrated himself.I hope he gets back and continues where he left off well maybe apart from his tackling lol

Just passing on information received, Iam as frustrated as anybody that he hasn't played since last pre-season.
We certainly could do with him.

I want more of his tackling, nothing like a few injured scummers, all you need to do is take out Nicky Carle, and they've got NOONE!
