To tell you the truth I was to busy watching your captain bully the ref... I didn't really notice Fred at all.

I was too annoyed that Melbourne wouldn't kick the ball out when the Mariners had a player down injured to worry about what Wilma was up to (bad sportsmanship - a bit like accusing a player who HAS injured his knee and not renowned for simulation, to get up off the ground eh? ). There's already a Brazilian playing in their national team as "Fred" (he actually played in the WC match against Australia to further confuse things) so until this guy gets another name I'll call him Wilma! If it's fair enough for a player of the class of Ronaldhino to adapt his name from Ronaldo it's fair enough for the HAL's Wilma.

I think he's overrated, not as much as Archie though.

I think drina has a massive star-crush ;-)
He was good, but not THAT good. Nothing to get carried away about.

Fred has been a very good find for Melbourne this year, I wouldn't mind him in Mariners colours! He and Brebner have made such a huge difference for them.

Fred and Archie were definately the difference on the night. Both had a couple of opportuinites and used them to score, something we have missed most of the season

Could Sully be given the same job on Carle? Milligan certainly shut him down on Monday.

Milligan certainly shut him down on Monday. i think that will be mile's job - apart from the first fifteen minutes when he was finding his feet last time against newcastle, he did an exceptional job on carle which means sully will go back to right fullback where does that leave spenny?

i thought spenny did very well considering he was out of position and it was his first game in many weeks

spenny was just rusty - but can we afford rusty? Mile will fill his usual position, so if he plays, he plays out of position, right?

Could Sully be given the same job on Carle? Milligan certainly shut him down on Monday. Milligan didn't man mark Carle, the reason Sydney won was there structure, you have to give credit to Butcher. Sydney prevented the jets from going wide by having Carney and Middleby playing deeper on the flanks, thus pushing Newcastle up the middle where Sydney stacked it with Talay, McFlynn, Milligan and Fyfe. Simple football away from home (maybe negative in some eyes but winning football). Please watch the game.

Great thing about this forum if you disagree with someone you have no idea or weren't paying attention. Condescending crap.

Quite, the appearance of man marking Carle must have just been a coincidence. Milligan just "happened" to be in he same place at the same time for 90 minutes.
Carney on the flank?? Would that be the same Carney who kept bursting through the middle (before being selfish and greedy and stuffing it up of course).
Newcastle could only play it wide from the back (and without Okon that is always a struggle for them) because Carle was shackled. That allowed Sydney to press the guy receiveing the pass (hence Griffiths petulent frustration)

It was actually more Terry McFlynn who did the job on Carle. Then when Carle moved well out of T-Mac's zone Millsy was there to pwn him.
Shut down Carle and Newcastle dies - Jedinak will be given the job on him then you'd think.

That idiot Carney was clapping the Cove when they sung their song for him...not so stupid if the ball is out of play but he was very much part of the passing triangle at the time. Concentrate much?
