I think position is all important. I don't feel we can beat Meblbourne if have to play them in Semi's wheres the optimism? Exactly we drew with them when we should have won. last week porters lack of expierence and our shooting let us down. In our first game we only lost 1-0 and if we had gumps for the match you never know. I would feel quitely confident if we played the victory

I actually think the Semi's is the best time to play Melbourne, I'm confident that the Mariners can do Melbourne over two legs, beyond the fact that if the Mariners do play Melbourne in the semi-finals they get the second chance, if they don't win they host the preliminary final for a chance back at Melbourne, if they do win the host the Grand Final. But let's worry about the Mariners securing fourth place first.
I think the Mariners certainly can get 9 points in their last three matches, don't get me wrong I'm worried about all three games but they really should do it if they don't they aren't good enough. The match I'm probably least worried about now is the Round 21 fixture, which could end up being a battle for Adelaide to make the four, they've been Woeful the last two weeks.

Strangley enough, I am completely relaxed about tomight and really looking forward to a good night out.
No nerves and all I want to see is a team 100% committed that will try its heart out.
As long as we get that, no complaints from me

I have no doubts about tonights performance, Lawrie certaily has the boys fired up. And they will want revenege.
It is our severe lack of goals from open play that has me really concerned and that was highlighted again last against Melbourne last week. May be after tonight game and see what Matt Simons can do I may have a more optomistic view,

yeah 2/3 of the pitch we are as good as anyone just about, the final third we let ourselves down sometimes

May be after tonight game and see what Matt Simons can do I may have a more optomistic view, I watched Matty at Lightning all year (along with a few others) and I don't consider him an out and out striker IMO. He played some of last season as an attacking midfielder, but is strong on the ball and offers some decent height up front. When he was on fire last season he was scoring nearly every game. He does like a little whinge and needs to watch his mouth sometimes too. He's been training with the squad all year so knows how everyone plays, I'm sure he will slot right in and is an unknown quantity so could cause some damage with defenders (here's hoping)
