however, qld have sydney and melbourne for their remaining matches - thats tough and a -3 goal difference... even so, we need results i reckon we can get away with a draw tommorrow night IF we beat New Zealand and Adelaide

adelaide looked sharp but couldn't score to save their lives. Great shot by Mori to set up the goal. Makes for a very important match tommorrow.

Doesnt change the fact that we need to win 3 out of 3. At least we have a chance to make it into 3rd.
Adelaide were awful tonight, their build up is so painfully slow its easy for the other team to get 9 men back behind the ball

good result - look up to who we wanna knock off rather than down to who we're worried will catch us.
we're going to take the jets tomorrow night, and boy, am i gonna enjoy that.
then we roll the knights (but not before they are inspired by ricky herbert to take points from sydney on sunday) next weekend before finishing the job against adelaide in the last week to put them out and slot ourselves in.
runs in- 28 pts - SFC: NZ, Utd, Qld 27 pts - Utd: SFC, Mariners 25 pts - Qld: MVFC, SFC 23 pts - Mariners: Jets, NZ, Utd 23 pts - Jets: Mariners, Glory, MVFC
we've got the best run in - we've got the most opportunity to hurt our competitors. It's risky, we could wind up giving points away, but if we do that we're not gonna be good enough to take silverware anyway so who the fark cares. better worrying about next season in that case.

dibo is spot on here - we gotta stop thinking of fourth here. Queensland may have done us a big favour here, showed up Adelaide (whats with Burns at the moment, wonderboy has the wobbles or what?) yet still have MVC and Sydney left, Adelaide and Sydney rip each other up after we take care of a N.Z that heroicly downs Sydney this week before dying against us, and if we can't beat Newcastle, what's the farking point? 4-4-2 with O'grady and Simon up front for the first 30 minutes- shock power, WTF! Throw a Harnwell at the short arses.

Based on last nights result and final games for teams, this is predicted finishing:
Friday 5 January 2007 Newcastle Jets FC Central Coast Mariners FC (CCM - 3points) Sunday 7 January 2007 Sydney FC New Zealand Knights FC (Sydney 3 points) Perth Glory FC Melbourne Victory FC (MV - no need to add)
Thursday 11 January 2007 Central Coast Mariners FC New Zealand Knights FC (CCM 3 points) Friday 12 January 2007 Melbourne Victory FC Queensland Roar FC (MV - not included) Sunday 14 January 2007 Adelaide United FC Sydney FC (Draw 1 point each) Perth Glory FC Newcastle Jets FC (Draw Jets 1 point)
Friday 19 January 2007 Newcastle Jets FC Melbourne Victory FC (Mv - no need to add) Saturday 20 January 2007 Queensland Roar FC Sydney FC (Sydney 3 points) Sunday 21 January 2007 New Zealand Knights FC Perth Glory FC (Perth) Central Coast Mariners FC Adelaide United FC (Draw 1 point each)
So from three games we can get 7 points Sydney FC get 7 points Jets get 1 point Roar get 1 point Adeliade get 2 points
So that would leace the table like this then Melbourne Victory FC 41 Sydney FC 32 Central Coast Mariners FC 27 Adelaide United FC 26 Queensland Roar FC 23 Newcastle Jets FC 21

a draw would have been nicer but at the end of the day we had to win our games remaining anyway IMO.
We do have the best run in but no game will be easy! Fingers crossed it's a very exciting game against Adelaide with lots on the line.

2 wins will do us to make the top 4. I think QLD will come 6th and SCUM miss out on goal difference.
