An apology to Central Coast Mariner players, fans and club
On behalf of Yellow Fever, we apologise to Central Coast football club for Sunday's incident, in which somebody in the Yellow Fever Zone hurled a plastic bottle of beer at some of the Central Coast players as they left the "Ring of Fire" via the players' entrance.
As a supporters group, we are immensely disappointed and there have been many Yellow Fever members on our website forum expressing their anger at the reckless and stupid person responsible (who remains unidentified).
As a supporters group we pride ourselves on generating noise and creating a difficult atmosphere for visiting football teams. But, there is absolutely no room whatsoever for that kind of petulant behaviour.
We hope you understand this was an isolated incident and that we are as angry as anybody about it.
Congratulations on your win. Next time we host, we hope to both grabs the points and restore some honour as a supporters group.
Regards Sam Buckle (on behalf of Yellow Fever)

Sam, thanks for the post and I will make sure this gets passed on to the Mariners FC. Unfortunately as our groups grow in numbers there are always going to be those on the fringes that can't control what happens to them when they get some 'go juice' in them. The important thing is, the action thats taken as a result. If we all try to self police and stamp this kind of bullshit out, (as it appears you have tried to do) our game will be better for it. I'm sure there are no hard feelings.

Cheers Sam,
To the fever guys thankyou for the hospitallity you showed us over there. hopefully some of you will make the trip over and get an equally warm welcome as we got.
As to the incident in question this was the first I had heard of this and while disappointing I think does not at all represent the group that we meet and chatted to before and after the game.

This seems an appropriate thread to repeat my comments on our trip to Wellington - I wasn't aware of the incident, and it was completely opposite to our experience: Well, we've been there and done that - and here's the video. www.youtube.com/watch?v=Jk1WNJGuoAsThe people there were fantastic - very welcoming and incredibly enthusiastic, (even in defeat). Shaz and I met up with Dru nearby, and we turned up to the pub en-masse. The bar filled up very quickly, and spilled out onto the courtyard and along the road - (say around 200+). At the stadium, we met up with some other Marinators, (I don't even know their names), and a few locals whose kids have adopted the Mariners. Roughly a 10 to 10,000 ratio, but we chanted every bit as good as them. Yellow Fever occupied a whole bay in 'the cauldron of fire'. The bar has a lot of rugby decoration, but they're hoping to add something more appropriate. The atmosphere was intense, and, (I have to say it), made the Kendall Room sound a bit tame! We've got the looks - they've got the noise. They reckon its '90 Minutes, 90 Beers'. Would you believe it? - they hate Sydney and the Jets too! Anyway, we couldn't have felt more welcome.

Great report grahamh.
The beers definitely help with the singing...The Bay at Bluetongue needs to get back to the beers a bit, less Sundays games will help that.
