and another killer pass for a goal tonight already... Look here Lefty 07 - against shit defences, anyone can be great. Witness Sydney against us a couple of weeks ago and tonight against this mob...... given that much space, I could pull off passes that good.

I hope people come out in their droves and support our boys, especially against Sydney, and Kosmina, I was appalled last night at how dirty they played, but nothing surprising there really, but to have two sets of rules is wrong, and Sydney were clearly favored last night, David Beckham in his own right is a spot on player, and it was after all a so called FRIENDLY, so Sydney as always had to prove they're a bunch of so and so's, let's put them on their asses this weekend, the look on Kosmina's face would be PRICELESS!

Hey Jaza, if Aloisi is over-rated how come you had him in your Australian HAL based select XI?
With Jedi back hopefully he will do a job on the midget and keep him quiet so Brosque is also kept quiet! Matty Simon will chop at Milligans heals all night as per instructions from Fergie and annoy the crap out of him, and Heff will test Sydney's right side with his pace all night,
Big question for me is will Aloisi get the service he has been lacking in the last 2 games? Who will supply him with this?
I'd like to revert back to how we looked in the first few weeks when service looked a lot better :
----------------------------Danny Clark/Porter-----Wilko----Boogs---------Heff Gumps-------------Owens----Jedi----------Kwas ---------------------Simon-------Aloisi
Bench - Trott, Vidmar, Clark/Porter, Brown/O'Grady
Not much attacking options available for the bench which may see Kwas stay on there and perhaps Browny get a start on the left?
1-1 draw

1-0, Aloisi to score. I think he's the only one who might be able to get one in this game - we'll keep a clean sheet because our defence is basically awesome at the moment, particularly with Jedi back, and then with no Tommy I’ve no idea how we'll get a goal other than through some Aloisi magic.
Maybe Kwas will show up and suddenly ping shots on target and effective crosses in and put the last few weeks' shaky form behind him? Maybe Owens will conjure another 20m belter? Maybe Simons will break his duck?
Who knows, should be a good tense game though!

If Brown is fit again, get him in at left back, so Heff can push forward from left midfield. Every time he gets the chance to go forward, he looks dangerous. Plus, he's one of the better crossers in the team. Plus, he's been getting a torrid time from the opposition in the last few games. Brown is a more solid defender, but carries less threat going forward.

3 days out and the Cove doesn't even have thread about this game yet. Still wrapped in various aspects of their LAG thing. (Edit: Well only in their Meetups and Travel) Was good to hear in the commentary on prime-time commercial FTA TV that Sydney will be off the play A-LEAGUE LEADERS CENTRAL COAST on Saturday

-----------------------------Talay --Corica--------Juninho---------------Zadkovich
-----------Brosque---------------Bridges
But it's too hard to tell with Rudan+Poppa+Millsy all fit.

i was wondering whether he was perhaps still injured and that therefore there might be someone more amuzing like zdonkey in his stead. that said i reckon kossie might be sensible and put beckham's favourite little anklebiter, santalab, in as a slightly deeper sitting right forward instead, much the same way as he was deployed with some success against newcastle at other times this year.

Mile has to mark Juninho like he did in round 1, and we need to give Aloisi the service he deserves, otherwise it's simple....we won't win. Brosque has also been in great form. Last year we beat them down our left side, SP was in fine form.....get Heff working up and down that side with Browny IMO

Good call about the left side DJ.
I think we'll lose because despite Hutcho's presence has become more important than we think.

What about Tony Vidmar? - most of you are not mentioning him in your game plans. Do you think he will start on the bench? This is my favourite Mariner we are talking about Seriously though, we were terrible against QLD Roar last Sunday and were so "up" for the LA Galaxy match on Tuesday. Popa and Fyfe played a full game on Tuesday night, so they will be jaded. I don't think we will beat you on Saturday night.

Vidmar's positional play is good but his pace is poor, IMO at least I believe Boogs and Wilko are the better option. Lawrie may be tempted thou to put Vidmar in the middle and Boogs on the right? Last weeks performance doesn't mean too much, Sydney will be up for it, teams usually go up a gear in a local derby. This weeks media spotlight and Becksmania will either work in the Mariners favour or against it. I personally don't think tiredness from Tuesday's game will factor in, it was only a training game really.

Not bothered who we start, just hope that we get decent service to Aloisi; I don't see the point in paying him all that money if we don't give him decent ball. Perhaps players like Owens and Porter can learn from the Beckham display about how to cross a decent ball and how to spread the play. Anyway, if we approach the game in the same way as we did for our last home game we will will comfortably. and, BTW, I don't expect the Mariners to lose another game in the regular season...
