Oh, yeahhhh!!!!!!!! In our small stand at Epping, after falling over dogs as we lept around like fools, we wondered who Auburnmariner crushed to death tonight! Cheer up Ben Coonan, you looked so depressed on the TV tonight, but that was before 84 mins! It feels good tonight..............

i think i woke up half the apartment complex i'm staying in, if they weren't watching the game! was so frustrating watching long ball after long ball - was like chucking icecubes at the titanic... and then cahill just turned it all on its head (and then gave away what would have been a certain penalty if the referee wasn't a complete muppet). unbelievable game! fell of a table, one shin landing on a chair arm, the other knee landing on glass first it's chairs, now it's tables...

Kevrenor,
My latest victims include GB, Grunta, Chimi-Churri, Bec & Serious!!
What a night! That last 10 minutes are what Americans would call "an instant classic". To come back and draw, then go ahead, then BURY 'EM, shows we are there to do business, not just make up the numbers.
Being at CCLC for big footy games is a massive honour and privilege. First CCMFC & the Barrel Boys, then watching our beautiful country do battle against the Rising Sun are two of the defining moments of a life spent watching tens of thousands of hours of sport. To hear the brilliant and evocative "Great Southern Land" on WS-FM this morning capped off an extraordinary 24 hours.
Thanks to all those people who made my night so enjoyable, especially to Mick and DJ for organising the Chinese feed and Golf Day respectively.
Have we scored one goal? NOOOOOO Have we scored TWO goals? NOOOOO Australians, have we scored THREE GOALS? YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS Oh, we've got three and they've got one, doo-dah, doo-dah!!!!

Still trying to come down from this one.
We NEVER looked like scoring. How does Timmy C always do that? You cant train a nose for goal like his.
If that doesn't convert some non-football heathens to the light side I'm not here. The explosion of joy in such a short space of time was penalty shootout-esque and people should start realise what a big deal football is and how it can make you feel.
And let's not forget, we just knocked off the Asian champions. Movin' on up!
Bring on the World Champions. I cant wait to see our boys get out there again.

i still dont know what happened. last night i felt both feelings of pain and then absolute pure joy.
Great game, i felt after plugging away like we did, we would eventually find the net, and we sure did. those last 10 or so, showed the condition we are in and that will surely play in the next games to come. we ran rings around em in the end.

yeah, all over em hey. it would have been murder if they won 1-0 due to a crap decision by the referee. (makes a good song: " REF LIKE AN EGYPTIAN..."). good that he has already come out and apoligised for the decision. i will be rather angry if we dont make the round of 16 due to 1 goal of goal difference. grrrr. But timmy cahill. super sub hey. if only his second goal was the first one. would have been a cracking first ever goal for the aussies. meh. a goal is a goal.....

HOLY SHIT, you have never seen an atmosphere at a game so much n the space of 10mins. The aussie crowd was still very positive even before the first goal but once it went in i think everyone had a feeling that there woud be more to come. But i dont think anyone had thought of another 2 goals. The noice was unbelivable, the see of gold behind us is something you cant really put into words.
I think nobody left the stadium for at least and hour and i have some great photo´s of the boys celebrating right in front of us. But the computer doesn´t have a usb port so i cant get them off right now but i will asap. BRING ON BRAZIL, and here we go for the round of 16.
Signing out from germany

Great to be at CCLC last night, haven't seen the Marinators since the GF so what an occassion to meet up again. That Jap goal was so wrong, with 2 of their players all over our goalie. We had some early chances with Viduka having a crack himself first and then another time when he did a beaut flip to Bresciano. What was it with Guus? It was the most animated I've seen him, being held back by Arnie, and even shoving someone from Japan on the sidelines. This happened about the time of the Jap goal. After that he was VERY "into" the match. Again, he did a surprise replacement, taking Moore off and replacing him with Aloisi? or was it Kennedy?. The Australian goals weren't flukes, fluffs or good luck. They were well and trully belted into the net, and deserved. Why has Guus been training the Aussies twice a day for the last 2 weeks? The answer is what we saw in those last 10 minutes. Croatia will not like viewing the video of this match. And I suspect that Brazil will pay us the greatest respect by fielding a full strength team (whether we really want to see that, I dunno) when we play them. I asked Mick what was Tim Cahill's transfer fee after those 2 goals. I think his reply was basically that whatever it was, it's now gone up by millions!
