Glad to see Im not the only one who hates the oi oi oi thing! That chant and another boring "Australia clap-clap-clap" got going a number of times around the sidelines at Newcastle. What we need to do as a Home End is be loud and try to keep periods of silence to a minimum. At Newcastle there weren't many of us prepared to sing, plus we were spread across 25metres wide and 2-3 people deep. We were in our seperate crews of mates. It didn't help our cause at all. At Bluetongue we need to all gather together, as compact as possible, starting from the back row of Bay 16 and then down row by row, leaving no spare seats. Do you guys have a drum? Do you have a capo with a megaphone? I can provide a capo & mega if needed. I could probably rustle up a drum too, if needed. The giant "Aussie Home End" parachute banner has still not arrived in the country (I sent it by post Hanoi-Sydney, so it's on some ship between Vietnam and Sydney, I hope), so we'll bring the equally impressive Aussie Flag parachute banner thanks ben we might pass to capo and megaphone duties on to you lot as you have a better grasp on the songs needed to be sung, if that is ok with you serious?

Bring the megaphone along - since Auburn Mariner will not be in attendance as far as I'm aware, I'm none too sure who our capo would be....... might just sort that out at the time.
I can rustle up a drum if need be, but it's pretty big (a 10 - 12" Tom I'm told), so I'm not sure if that would suit us or not. Might be best to go with a smaller one so we don't drown everyone out.
And yes, Newcastle was a bit of a shambles - all a learning experience though.

Bring the big drum - I have a feeling we're going to have decent numbers for this match.
I'll bring the megaphone - and we have a capo who is fairly easy going and will go with the flow of whatever the group is doing, rather than dictating proceedings.

I'm e-mailing my housemate (owner of the drum) as we speak. Got a rough estimate on numbers heading up from Sydney??

Will bring my drum as well. Had brought it to Newcastle but then got told I had to cloak it, Has that always been the case at Newcastle?

Righto, my housemate says that his drum is not a problem. The more noise the better says I (as long as we don't drown everyone out, y'know??).

And just a word of warning (any ex-Spirit fans will already be in the loop) - RE "Arnold Out"/"Arnold In" - you're going to hear a fair bit of this. Half the time it's serious, half the time it's merely a piss-take (such as when it is done after WE score a goal). Don't get offended or abusive to those who choose to chant it - simply don't join in if it is not for you - you can't control the beast that is "Arnold Out".
This song will never be started by a capo, so, if it bothers you that much you can ensure that there are minimal periods of silence - even if our team are playing like crap - by singing hard and loud for 90 minutes.
I only post this because it almost caused an Aussie v Aussie fight in Asia, plus some comments were made at the Newcastle Olyroos game last week.

Ben - was that that scuffle during the Thailand game?? It was at the Iraq game (instigated by Perth GGA guys). There was a verbal argument between 2 people after the Thailand match which had something to do with old Brisbane Strikers rivalries , I don't really know too much what it was all about.

Hmmmmm....... wonder what the whole biff was about during the Thailand game then - possibly something to do with the Thailand flag. Either way, I remember that whole deal during the Iraq game, although I must admit I didn't pay too much attention to it, I was busy politely asking Viduka to kindly not be so lazy. P.S. Any word on the GGA presence tomorrow?

Any word on the GGA presence tomorrow? Oh yeah - there was something to do with a GGA person pulling/ripping the Thai flag (later they claimed it got caught on their girlfriend's seat, apparently a complete accident and not a drunken act of idiocy). I've only read second-hand accounts of this incident. I'm guessing here, but I'd say there'll be about a dozen GGA, some of whom were standing with us at Newy and some of whom did not stand with us at Newy, and maybe 4 or 5 more who weren't at Newy.

Damn straight they do. I do believe this game is worthy of a FIRE UP at the very least - I must say I'm excited to see what we can pull off tomorrow. Any word from anywhere on the Lebanon support?? Travelling convoy up the M7 and F3 perhaps??
