Ok folks, we now have a bank account to be able to manage the funds we all raise and also to take DONATIONS from (hopefully) everyone!
It's an account that has 4 signatories,
Marinermick LouMacari Wyoming Tiger and one other that you don't know (an accountant)
anyone (from this forum or the 'outside world') that tried to withdraw funds would need to prove who they were, and seeing as they don't know who the 4th signatory is, that would be pretty hard. Then they would have to be a good forger and also have I.D. to prove that they are one of the 4 and then have an accompliss to jump through all the same hoops, as it needs a min 2 people to sign and prove ID.
So, its fairly safe I think! If you want to donate (every bit helps!) the details are as follows:
Bank = Westpac account name: The Marinators BSB #: 032523 Acct# : 230311
You can either go into any Westpac branch and fill out a deposit slip, or donate over the internet using your existing internet banking facilities (most financial institutions online banking have the facility to pay a 'third party'.
I've just tried it (by donating $10) using my online banking and its easy!
As has been stated before on other posts, this account will be for depositing any funds raised, taking donations and paying for various supplies. The money will be used for making Marinator items like Banners, Flags, Signage, Website hosting, any items needed for the Marinators Charity Shield day (sausages, bread, etc etc.)
So... [glow=red,2,300][/glow]

Beauty. ANY questions at all people, dont hesitate to ask. First projects are the long www.marinators.net banner to go across the front of the fence at bay 16 and Lou's big "Sea of Yellow" one to go across the scaffolding at the back of the bay. Gosford signs has our designs and will get back to us with quotes soon.

Could we have a giant Mariners jersey pulled down from the top of the bay to the bottom, like they do overseas ?

Given I don't drink if people do want to donate at a game I could manage that, ultimately we'd prefer deposits into the account though.

I agree with WyomingTiger,
Most people these days do either have phone or internet banking. My only problem with omni doing it is that he is not a signature on the bank account, so he cannot be held responsible if money goes missing (no offence to your character omni, but a signature either Mick, Lou, WT or myself) should collect the money, and issue a receipt.

I agree Shanos, however my suggestion was because I am a non-drinker so I would be sober enough to collect the money and could donate it on behalf of people (assuming the didn't want a receipt). As I said the preference is for people to donate it straight into the account.

I'm sure on most occasions I wouldn't be too blind drunk to handle it, but there is a second problem. To secure money donated from coming back out of the fund on the night I think a money box would be the best collection method, but then this thing would have to be practically handcuffed to you because there will no doubt be some bastard who knows about it that's just waiting to knock it off as soon as our gaze goes towards the match or whatever else. Personally I plan to walk home from a lot of home games so I wouldn't want to be known to have a big tin full of cash with me either.
I cant weigh up my paranoia against the obvious benefits of collecting money on the day. Two other signatories left what do you guys think?

I think its real easy for ANYONE to either: 1/ use internet banking (or even phone banking?) to deposit. 2/drop into ANY Westpac bank branch and deposit. 3/ Give us a cheque (made out to Marinators, which would mean Omni could accept it and deposit for us? Shanos may need to clarify that one)

I don't have an issue with Omni handling money on the charity day - especially as he will be the sober one.
Likewise for Auburnmariner on game days.
Auburnmariner ran the raffle at WCC and collected the money. He then gave the money to me afterwards.
I think this system can work.

I certainly don't have any problems with Omni or Auburn collecting, if everyone else is ok with it. We will (hopefully) have a number of people walking round with collection tins on Charity Shield day also.
