the tits out for the boys chant has become almost as popular as celery, but i feel that it has gone too far and is well past its use-by date.
i admit to joining in every time, and its always fun...but ive realised that many of the girls who have had this put on them, have not returned. if this did not happen, they may have turned up to the next match with a few friends, meaning more supporters and louder chants.
of course its fun for all of us, but we have to think about the others we are putting down, similar to the situation with swearing and racism. this is not just my opinion but a friend of mine said she cannot stand it, and that is the reason she doesnt bring her friends along - they take it as sexual harrassment and are offended by it.
what are all of your thoughts on this?

Fight the fights we can win thats my opinion mate yeh. good point fish. but if the main forumers stop doing it so often, the others might catch on and think 'hey, its not as funny anymore, we see seem to be the only ones doing it' same as one of them throwing the bottle, he thought it was funny until everyone got stuck into him. half the things they do is probably to impress the older more respected ones.

Really this post is ridiculous, what idiot would ask someone elses opinion if they should yell out tits out for all the boys... gee let me think would you say that to your mum?your sister?
"but ive realised that many of the girls who have had this put on them, have not returned" (what did you think they would do??show you their tits??)
"of course its fun for all of us" (well at least your all having fun, did you ask the girls if they thought it was fun?)
"that is the reason she doesnt bring her friends along - they take it as sexual harrassment and are offended by it." (Do you think that is because it is sexual harrasment?)
Once this stupid chant is stopped, you might find more girls who are not partners to marinators actually sit with you, instead of walking on by.

um. exactly y i said the chant should b stopped.
the point u made about every single quote u just put in that post, was the same point i was making. basically, you just regurgitated everything i said. your really smart.
yours posts have been pointless.

There you go marinerd, capable of contributing after all! Wasn't so hard was it? Not that I am against your point mate, its just the way you 'typed it' in your first post. Now, couple of points here "would I say that to your sister" bloody oath, does she have big tits? "what did you think, they would show you their tits?"...well actually, they did. In the early days, guess you weren't there. " did you ask the girls if they thought it was fun" ...of course not.The answer would have been too obvious!

I'm smart enough not to join in, your obviously not.
I was there in the early days and I couldn't believe you guys were saying that to paying female spectators -sure a couple returned them plea but when your faced with an ominous group of gawking men sometimes alcohol and pressure wins over-its still wrong no matter how many reciprocate.
We should be cherishing and attracting the female supporter, if the Marinators wasn't such a boys club, do you think there would be the marinettes??

I'm glad your against it I just hope others follow you, I'm not aginst you personally, I just hate that chant and anyone involved with it. I'd expect cove guys to say that in troppo not Mariner supporters.
You just have a perculiar way of stating you point, I probably shouldn't have been a dick about it, but people can be dicks at times-I was just trying to prove a point too.

At the end of the day everyone is entitled to their opinion on this. My wife has been in Bay 16 every single Mariners game and is in no way fazed by tits out for the boys, if it was to ever happen she would fire it straight back with dicks out for the girls, which she has done before. If other women take it too seriously I honestly feel they should build a bridge as it's not harming anyone, maybe my wife is more confident than other women?
In the workplace yes it would be seen as sexual harrasment but this is a game of football and it's all in good fun, in no way do we expect any woman to get their tits out (if they do want to thats ok too).

i'm with analysis and marinerd, but i've been shot down on this one one too many times to put up a big post. suffice to say i think the chant stinks and we need it like a hole in the head.
'fight the fights you can win' - while the marinators are not going to create world peace and equality of the sexes etc. it's really not that hard for the people who lead most of the songs to simply not sing 'tits out', or some of the other songs that people have expressed concern over. people follow the leader, like it or not, so those who lead have a pretty significant influence over what gets sung. if they stop, it stops. simple.
