marauding runs from the middle and a terrific workrate in the sun make gumps my choice. hutch worked hard but was caught offside far too many times - he's quick enough that he doesn't need to get quite that deep.

Gumps for me too - Mr Reliable!
Tough 1 this week thou, Danny made a couple of good saves and Hutcho did ok, but as for our 85 minute defence there is no way 1 of those back 4 would get my vote!

Hutch for me .All season Ive hoped that one of the young lads who doesnt get much game time would make an impact and yesterday I think Hutch did that whether he scored a goal or not he busted his ass for the team and thats why he gets my vote.

Had to be Gumps. His vision to take the quick free kick that led to our goal was outstanding. He was the drover's dog yesterday. He was everywhere.

Yea - it's always the goal keepers fault when we concede isn't it Striker. Fergie had a MUCH better game than Vukovic didn't he.

No . in another post, I said fergie shouldn't have subed himself in preference to Carle!.... I said tha the goal keeper would have had a bette chance of saving the shots if he wooud have been on his line..... I really blame th midfield for not closing the opposition down ....

And schwatzer could have saved if he left his line, dosen't mean he's not the best player.

Danny is my choice......his only problem is that he's been coached by John Crawley for the past four years....

Standouts were Hutcho man and Danny.
Hutch had two goals and could have had more if the other players had read his classy, pacy runs early enough. He was offside a lot but always ran from onside, there was one time at our end were Browny had a clear chance to put him through then swiveled on the ball instead, THEN passed the through ball but it was too late by then! So he gets my vote.
Danny was outstanding and was Lawrie's man of the match. The goals were not his fault. The first goal was a rocket shot from 10 yards, who can save that and what does it have to do with being on your line? The second was a free strike from outside the box, taken very well inside the far post halfway up, so on the line or not made no difference, the problem was that a player had to time to head it to himself and then shoot freely from there with no one closing him down! Danny stopped it from being 6-1 with some class saves and particularly good rushing out in the second half that I dont think Crawley could have done.
Gumprecht was Gumprecht, he's always good and tends to get the vote when there's no other standouts but on this occasion those boys really did the job.

Gumps ran about but did nothing for me with the exception of the pass for the goal. Danny kept us in the game with 3or 4 great saves. But if I was totally honest I wouldn't award a M.O.M. this week that was a bad result.

Danny stopped a few attempts, most notably the double save infront of the bay. Couldnt focus on the replays so i dont know if he was at fault for either shark bite or if he was just exposed. Therefore Gumps gets my vote.....again. Usual story - tireless, probing and always looked most likely to unlock the defence. Plus hes got a killer hairstyle.
Did anyone else think SP was a tad sluggish???

Yes, you're right...we probably do have the best keepers in the league although technique is lacking even from our boys and there is always a case for the goalkeeper coach to not be on the playing squad. But I've not had any complaint about Crawley's performance. He kept the goals out and, in the end, who cares how pretty it looks.... and good on him for stepping aside for Danny
