Just a message to say thanks for the Marinator efforts in getting such numbers to Aussie last night! I, as well as all the players and coaching staff, was amazed by how many Mariners fans turned out and outsung the Cove for the most part! Well done

Last night was fantastic, the support we had was just fantastic. i think we had more people singing than what we had with the KFC game. We were really loud, it was awesome. Great turnout and it shows how much this team means to us.

Congrats everyone who went down, we did ourselves proud! The biggest away support we've mustered, the biggest away support Aussie stadium has seen, the first time the Cove heard singing from the other end.
We're continually moving up in the world and I cant wait to see what we get to aussie or newcastle in the finals.

It was the best away support at the SFS this year. It was the only time I have heard a cheer of any sort when we have conceded a goal there this year. Great work and was good to have a beer with Wyoming and whom ever the other person was at the Cricketers.
I must ask this though later that night myself and two others bumped into some of you guys near Central. What became of the guy not wearing yellow. It looked as though you blokes left him there.

Agree with everyone, the support was better than I imagined! I hope bay 16 can only grow from here!
After watching the replay it was clear to see the sea of yellow we strived for, plus the volume of the singing was clear to hear. When the Cove were singing yes they were loud due to numbers but we did oursleves proud and did our part in making a great derby!

I was totally pissed off with the amount of coverage we got on the replay, to listen to Robbie Slater there was only one set of fans there. I'll see what he reports on Total Bling on Thursday night. And did you know they played paintball last week. again and again and again and.......

It was my first away trip this year, and just walking to the ground I was kicking myself that I didn't go for the 1st round down there. Can't wait for the next away trip to either Newcastle and/or Sydney for the semis.
We provided a good atmosphere. I had a mate who was at the other end of the ground, and he said we could be heard loud and clear. I watched the replay yesterday on FOX, and we can hardly be heard. All you can hear is The Cove. Bloody FOX drowing us out !!

I was sitting behind the mariners bench & I could hear you loud and clear. Off to Adelaide here I go, anyone else going, would like to sit near mariner bench to support them as I don't want to be nigelated.
Fantastic, I could imagine how awesome it would be to have 15,000 plus at our home game.
Awesome Midefield Magic Mariners

You might get more company in the away supporters at that one, I'm sure Lou Macari would like some company.

This was put on the Mariners website today thanking us for going down to the game ----------------------------------------------------- Mariners applaud fans showing in Sydney Wednesday, 18 January, 2006 - 3:53PM The MarinatorsCentral Coast Mariners Football Manager Lawrie McKinna has heaped praise on the Mariners’ traveling band of supporters that were in such fine voice at Aussie Stadium last Saturday. Close to one thousand Mariners fans filled the southern end of Sydney FC’s home ground with yellow and blue, with McKinna comparing his sides support away from home as good as any other he has experienced in Australia. "The derby culture of football in this county is really starting to catch on, as we saw on Saturday at Aussie Stadium," said McKinna. "When Tom Pondeljak scored our goal, I could hear as much noise on the bench as if it was one of our home games! "The players are very thankful for the support they received and our fans should be commended for all their efforts in getting such numbers to make the trip down to Sydney." Saturday’s attendance at Aussie Stadium was 15,977, which took the aggregate attendance figure from New South Wales derby matches involving Sydney, the Central Coast and Newcastle to over 100,000, nearly 15% of the total Hyundai A-League audience in 2005/06. Saturday’s crowd was also the biggest derby crowd of the season, beating the previous record of 15,614, which was recorded when Sydney FC hosted the Mariners at Aussie Stadium in Round 4. With each of the aforementioned derby rivals placed near the summit of the Hyundai A-League coming into the final three rounds, further crowd records are expected to tumble when the inaugural Hyundai A-League finals series kicks off in February. Mariners Executive Chairman Lyall Gorman was another impressed with the yellow and blue representation on Saturday. "All of the Mariners organisation was thrilled by how many supporters of ours were on hand last Saturday," said Gorman. "From the players and coaching staff to the administration, we were all extremely proud of what a superb supporter base the Central Coast Mariners have been able to attract in a relatively short time. "On the back of two very pleasing attendances at home and then a magnificent showing away from home, I’m encouraged as to what we can expect from our final home match of the regular season, and then, hopefully, our very first finals matches." The Mariners next home match, and final of their regular season campaign, is against top four hopefuls the Melbourne Victory on Friday, January 27. Kick off is at 8pm. Tickets can be bought from Ticketek outlets, from the Ticketek website – www.ticketek.com.au, or via phone on 132 849. This week, the Mariners travel to South Australia’s Hindmarsh Stadium to face Adelaide United, now confirmed Hyundai A-League Premiers, on Friday, January 20. Kick off is at 8pm Eastern Daylight Savings Time. Fans not making the trek to Adelaide can keep updated with proceedings by watching live and exclusive action on Fox Sports, or tuning in to 2CCC 96.3fm, which will also feature a live broadcast.
