As most of you are aware I am awaiting the birth of my second child with my lovely wife so I thought Id put a few things down before I sign of for a few weeks. Firstly I would like to say a massive thank you to Jeff Hall(Lou Macari) for initially asking me to get involved with what is undoubtedly the greatest bunch of people I have ever come across in my life.My initial intention was to get involved have a laugh and cheer the boys on and see what happens but this team and us have consumed my life and I am a better person for doing so. From the early days of half filled bay 16 to being absolutley swamped in the latter part of the season has made me immensley proud to be a part of it.We are all mates and have stood shoulder to shoulder all year through rain, 40+ degree heat seen many a breast and even a man in a bikini to more male genitals than I ever needed to see(names withheld for legal reasons) Our club is one we should be proud of and next season will be even better than this year. There will be a few suprises in the off season Im working on but youll have to wait for them. So again thank you to those people Ive met and have become great mates with and Ill see you all soon. Cheers Fish

Doesn't surprise me in the least that you stepped up the way you did Fish. I saw it as clear as day me ole mate. Pride myself on being a fairly good judge of character and you have proved me right yet again. You (and others) have gone above and beyond so many times I lose count and I am sure I speak for all other Marinators when I say a huge THANK YOU for what you do.

Breasts? Breasts? Damn, I missed that part of the season!
Fish, If we had a Marinators Hall of Fame, your pedestal awaits you! You are the quintessential Marinator. Thanks for all your effort over the season.

Fish, you've been an incredible asset to the Marinators and we all appreciate it. Not to mention you being a nice guy as well.
Congrats on the bub (the guppy?) look foward to seeing you next season, and odds are before then.

thanks to you fish for making the year memorable. like you i thought i would just go along to cheer the boys on, but found myself being consumed by the atmosphere and the friendliness of just being around the mariners and the marinators. i found myself being more confident and enjoying the time i spend being not so closed to everything and everyone around me and i am a better person for being so. thanks to everyone for no being dicks (excluding a certain someone ;D not naming names. lol ) wow. i just cant wait till next time we all meet up. cheers melissa
p.s.good luck simon with the bubba. i cant wait to see how long its going to be until you start teaching him/her to play soccer like a champ.. hehe

the marinators every week contribute towards a growing culture that will outlive the current crop of players and maybe even the club. we're creating something special that cant be measured in dollars or numbers but only in the desire to come back every week and be a part of it all. fish has been a massive part of all of this as an organiser and he's realised what is and isnt to be gained by sacrificing time and effort to this cause. i'll save more words for a more appropriate moment but it is just a credit to the man what he's achieved in an organisational sense and as a friend to many.

Thanks for all the time you have taken to make this strange mixture of even stranger people work.
All the best to you and your family present and future. I hope they allow you to carry on the "above and beyond in the future".

Agree with everyone elses comments about you, Fish 100%. A great amount of time and effort was put in by you and I, for one, am grateful for the way you conducted all this. A big thank you too, to your wife and little girl, for what must have been times when your family quality time had been compromised with numerous phone calls and organising. All the best wishes for the pending arrival of the newest member of your family. I think the highlight for you would have been Lawrie's public annointing of you with the Tie! Great stuff amongst many other great memories of season #1.

It's be an honour to meet u fish and others who have worked hard behind the scenes. I've met a few of u towards the end of the season mainly at away games. Thank you for making us feeling welcome without knowing us well but knowing our love of all things mariners.
Make sure u get plenty of sleep before little fish arrives & u had better make mrs fish lots of cups of tea in bed and spoil her.
Keep well and I'll have to now start marking assignments that have not been done while the soccer has been on.
