Does anyone know why Leo can't get onto the pitch ? The only time we see him is before the game and at halftime when he takes shots at goal.
From the limited opportunities I have seen him, he has talent coming out of his ears and would be great in midfield with Andre.

We were saying the same thing yesterday, he doesnt look too bad when he plays.
I thought he was going to go on mid 2nd half because Brownie looked buggered even before his injury.
I reckon Leo would have been a better sub than Kwasnik.

I know Leo's getting sick of sitting on the bench, I'd really like to see Kwassi or Leo given a go with all these injuries around but Hutcho has been too good.
I have friends who play at Marconi u/20 and they think he's best used as a sub (they say that he will only work half the match), so maybe Lawrie feels the same, I dunno, I would like to see him given a start.

nah, id rather see kwasnik on. infact id rather see both of them start. if we cant keep a 1-0 victory mabye we should start with our subs then mabye make a change at half time before we slump in the 2nd half. the fact we have unused subs is really starting to frustrate me.

Personally I have not seen enough of Leo to really comment, but what do we have to lose? The current midfielders and attacking players ain't doing it for us why not use the full squad and give Leo a good 20 mins rather than 5 when he is lucky enough to get on?

Kwassys touch yesterday wasnt his best and hes had ample time to adapt but if leo cant last the game maybe thats going against him why would you start someone who is young but you know you re going to have to sub later in the match

Is Leo a striker or attacking midfielder? I thought he was the former, and if thats the case doesnt it speak volumes that he cant get on the pitch? Lawrie prefers a stand-in forward after all of our injuries.
Im a bit miffed, but come on Lawrie, give the boy a go.

He's an attacking midfielder Red, I'm not sure about him starting but would like to see him come on for the last 20 minutes or so, that's enough time to show what he can do, rather than coming on in the 85th minute!

I read a quote that Kwasnik is more help off the field and Im starting to believe it. Even yesterday when he was on goal, I didnt even feel any ancipation of a goal just because it was Kwasnik with the ball. I know he was a champion in the State League with 20 odd goals, but the A-League is a bit above him.
But I do agree that we must use all of our subs over a longer duration. As I mentioned before it was really clear that Brownie was tired, but he was kept on the ground 15 minutes too long, maybe it was his tiredness that contributed to his injury.

I would have preferred Leo to have come on yesterday, no offence intended to Fergie. I think he has potential and every time he has come on he has looked dangerous.

I can't believe he doesn't play more often. I love watching him at half time with his tricks and stuff. He looks like a real talent so why not use him!?

Yes I agree, why did the Mariners sign him up if he is not giving him a go to prove himself, what’s going to happen if we get more injuries & all of a sudden he has to play a full game how long is going to last without regular match practice.
I did not agree with bringing Fergie on, and I not really impressed with Kwasnik, he was made out to be some hotshot striker, he has a poor first touch.
So come on coaching staff give Leo Carle A GO !!

...as i said to some others at the game at half time...lawrie shoulda put leo on for either brownie or petrie (hutcho was playing really good) about 10-20 minutes into the 2nd half. from what i have seen, he has a strong impact on when he comes on. he should b used as a sub.
kwasnik was definately off his game. and browny still isnt back in full form obviously.

and the down side of playing players until exhaustion is that they're more likely to injure themselves or aggravate existing injuries, adding ot our bench problems... i want to be able to write something new that doesn't involve us having soooo many out. can someone heal a few players please? i would personally hate ot go on for less than 20 min... it can take you that long to get into it and i think it's unreasonable ot ask a sub to build rome in 5 or 10... On the plus side, MB is back this week...

Brownie is a god! He should be in before any other player in his position. If you take away his freekicks and corners, then I don't see how we are going to create chances to score goals

browniesleftfoot, there is no way that brownie should start before anyone else in his position. If we had the full squad to choose from Hutch and Heff are two players that I believe give a lot more in attack then he can. Brownie does a job but doesnt really give the team the spark that it needs.

Brownie does a job but doesnt really give the team the spark that it needs. I disagree. Brownie has at times given the team the spark that it needs, particulary pre-season and early season. He has been injured of late and obviously his earlier appearances have been forgotten. Teaming Brownie and Heffo on the left side and letting them switch from defender to midfielder to wing is one of the Mariners strengths.

speaking of leo. i think the substitution putting ferguson on the field instead of leo was a bit questionable.

Yellowfever, I am actually refering to his earlier performances where he did a solid job but I still dont think he gave a lot attacking wise. I do agree that he and Heff have formed a very good combination down the left side though. Back onto the subject though I agree that Leo should definitely be getting a lot more time on the field and I have always thought that Lawrie waits far to long to make changes. If what I read today is true he is looking to start Fergie. That just goes to show that politics are alive and well at the Mariners in my opinion.
