Yea thats probally what it could be but i think the one match that will change most of it is if Mariners can beat sydney, we we can beat them it will change alot. That would be allright as well getting 3rd spot so we get to chose when we play out fianls and which leg we want at home

With the way they are playing I dont see Newcastle AND Sydney going unbeaten through the rest of the season. I think it will be a lot closer than that, but agree that it would probably be those teams that sneak the top four spots.
To be honest I'd almost rather finish third like that rather than second ahead of Sydney. This is why:
We finish second, we either beat the Reds over two games, have a week off to lose our momentum, then face one of the other teams coming off a big win. OR we lose to the Reds, and have a loss messing up our momentum to go into a difficult clash with the winner from 3rd and 4th.
If we finish third, we can win every week and play every week to get into the final. There is perhaps more chance to lose, but I see us as a team that would benefit from playing more matches, getting on a roll, and sticking together through the pressure. Both ways have pros and cons.
Wouldn't it be grand: home and away legs against Newcastle, watching the boys beat them in front of 35 squadron kids down here then taking 100-200 up there to sing them to a tough draw. Then travelling the other way to Aussie stadium to knock the bling off in the qualifier, with more massive away support and momentum building. All before finally meeting up with Lou Macari to invade Adelaide and go for glory!

You brought up a good point there WT - hopefully it won't turn out how you said but probably will - with the two leg semis, the team that wins the first leg will just go into defensive mode and the second leg will be ZZZZzzzzzzzzzz boring. I don't see why they are dragging the finals series out like this.

They are playing it over 2 legs because it gives every team a home final. I think we can beat Adelaide. Where is the Grand Final being played?

I think it will be played at an undecided neutral venue, or maybe the highest ranked qualifier will get home ground advantage

I would assume the team that wins the Major Semi final would play the game at home thats the way i would see it as and the Grand Final is only one leg as well as the Preliminary Final which would be played on the home ground on the Loser of the Major Semi Final.

The winner of the major semi final decides. I'd correct that Newcastle NZ prediction, New Zealand will win. Newcastle won't make the four, yea it'd be nice to have the away leg close by, but I hate Newcastle too much.

I'd correct that Newcastle NZ prediction, New Zealand will win. That'll be tough with Christie and Devine suspended and Imaya out injured

As discussed in another thread, the team that qualifies first for the GF can choose its venue, "in consultation with the A-League". Look for Adelaide to consider playing at Football Park, with its 45k capacity.

i would say Perth would get a lot closer to the top 4.
I would rather finish 2nd because obvioulsy the advantage that you get a double chance. I think we can beat Adelaide and then host the Grand Final but if we lose we are straight into the preliminary final. Also we are a very inconsistent side and if we lose to Adelaide we usually come back the next week on fire to knock off Syndey at home then travel to Adelaide for the final. Newcastle will hammer Nz. They have a good record against the kiwis. Perth should overocome them too but they should grab a point at Melbourne

I think the knights will get points against newcastle this week, i think that we will draw with the bling, and i think we will roll adelaide in a couple of weeks.
Whatever happens i would love to see the mariners play the bling in the grand final.
