A game we probably should have lost but could quite easily have won at the death.
We were as disjointed as you would expect and it was only our organisation and belief that got us through IMHO.
QLD were v hard done by to have the guy sent off, a yellow at best.
Vuko - We keep forgetting his age and he is a fantastic keeper, no chance with the 1st and did well to get to the 2nd.
Wilko - best player as usual, started to get forward and looked dangerous.
Beauchamp - V good overall, needs to watch that temper.
O'Grady - V shaky start but settled well. Lack of pace will catch him out. Clarky is the better bet IMHO
Heff - Not his best night but overall ok
Sully - High work rate, terrible execution, normal game really
Spenny - Worked hard but no great impact tonight
McMaster - Wow, passing was great, can tackle and I was really impressed. looks v good in C Mid - would like to see him with Gumpy.
Brownie - Did he play??
Petrie - Another masterclass.
Tommy - Was he with Browny?? I think we are better playing 451 (Petrie up front) because Tommy looks out of sorts as a forward and drops too deep
Top game and Qld probably deserve to be in the scums place.
That sub (Williams??) looked good too - no wonder they are happy to get that idiot Baird sold off.
At least it wasnt a loss and we will beat the scum regardless of 3rd or 4th.

I thought Jamie was great last night as well. And i agree that it would be an interesting pairing with gumps.
I have always thought that we play our best football with 3-5-2 formation which laurie was playing earlier in the year. Throughout the year we have struggled with player availability which has probably influenced the systems laurie has played.
After last night i was thinking that Brown,McMaster, Gumps, Spenny & sully would be an interesting midfield setup. However maybe the time for experiments is over.

Queensland should have won despite the fact they had 10 men they were the better team.
I think Jamie had a belinder and he was probally one of the better players on the field he played well and he deserved his starting spot. Wilko another good game from him as always and Danny what can i say yet another great game, he couldnt do much about the 1st and the 2nd well it was a bit tough too.
I think Sully played a bit better game than what he usually does but it wasnt his best but he done a great job in setting up the first. i think he realised that he hasnt been crossing it well so he cut in passed it around a bit and then put a good ball across for Stewie.
Stweie had a good game and done well to finish those two goals even though the 2nd goal was actually sullys from my point of view but i hope that Despostoski doesnt score tonight and Stewie wins the Golden Boot.
That red card was a bit unfair but i guess thats what you get when you elbow someone in front of the ref and a bit of a dive from sully as well too.
Queensland were the better team from my point of view but we done well to get a draw and it keeps our undefeated streak going into the finals which is great and we have the best form out of any other team going into the finals which is a good sign

Baird has copped some flack for taking off to Romania, he must be disalusioned to get such little game time. He was very dangerous last night.

Yep it certainly looked deliberate. I think the booing by roar supporters encouraged Sully rather than upsetting him.I think we were lucky to come home with a draw. Great to see McMaster show some form at last. Bring on the scum!

yeah, the qld fans are dickheads, i mean i know that this proably does sound like im up myself and i think the marinators are one of the better sports-people-supporters of the a-league ,i mean wehn sydney played at ccs, the cove or whtever the hell they call themselves were saluting our boys as they did their warm up lap, and throwning toilet paper on the field. then qlds preformance last night, i dont think they are much better.

pfft, it was good to see sully score though to shut them up, and i think lawrie replaced him as a bit of a joke.

What is all this crap about Qld being unlucky to have a player sent off? They were lucky not to have three off. Nasty tackle on McMaster, studs up both feet, not even a yellow. Sully's (or Stewie's) goal, handball to try and stop it going in. Automatic red. Given a yellow. If the ball was across the line win handled, the goal should be Sully's and no card. If the ref ruled he stopped it from going over the line the goal is Stewie's and the defender should be off.

The QLD folk were more than hospitable towards us, they are a great bunch of blokes. Several of us were still drinking with them at 4am. On the replay it did look like a soft red card at the ground, but he did elbow him, so tough

- retaliation. i reckon if sully did nothing to him in the first place, he woulda got away with a yellow i reckon. - mcmaster played ok once he got rid of his nerves. - spencer was quiet, as was brownie. - i reckon some of these goals that have been let in, could have been saved by crawley, but its hard to judge. from one view, it looked like danny let that first one go thinking it was going to miss or something. - i think we missed gumprecht in that match, and alot of our passes werent connecting, once they did, we scored goals, great work by sully on the first, and same with mcmaster on the 2nd (it was him that did the cross wasnt it?) - osman almost had a chance to shine also. - who cares about the crowd, they are out of the league now.

Another massive big boo from the Queenslannd fans was when Miron came on the big screen.
Sully loved the boos, absolutely pumped him up.

If the ref ruled he stopped it from going over the line the goal is Stewie's and the defender should be off. The red was weak, yellow at most. The tackle should have been a red. The handball is only a red if a goal had been denied and it wasnt. The ref did the right thing with a yellow. BUT...I noticed that the ref didnt even see the handball, too much time elapsed between the handball and Petries goal. Just as Petrie scored you could see the ref notice the linesman, and it wasnt until after the linesman called the ref over that the yellow was produced. A situation of bad ref, good assistant.
