just found this write up about the boys on ski.com.au forum about the boys "My little family has seen two Mariners games and may see next weeks Newcastle v Mariners derby at Gosford.
The whole Mariners team attended our Fathers and kids camp, ate lunch with us all and then did a 2 hr training season followed by a put put golf round with the kids. The team was one of the most friendly and cohesive bunch of sport stars we have experienced. The Mariners are very much a part of the real CC and the kids teams soccer sign ups are huge this year. There was even Mariners management reps at the Terrigal soccer registration day doing a great job with stickers, free kicks and happy smiles.
Gosford Stadium is a brilliant place to watch the game.
One soccer son, one Rugby son.
It is all good.
Go the Mariners Go Avoca rugby"
good to see word is spreading

I want to echo that - my youngest 2 were at Mingara for their schools swimming carnival in the week and after training about 4 or 5 players came over and just spent some time chatting with the kids.
It made their day to be able to talk to people they see as heroes.

My son and i chatted with danny, hutcho & nigel out the front of rebal sports the day after we hammered newcastle. They were great, signed autographs, had a light chat with my son.
They are just fantastic.

This is all just part of what makes this club so great, I love it that the players aren't afraid to let the fans get to know them.
