the reasoning will be that while contact is undeniable, the intent to harm is still a matter for debate and i got it in one - check the telegraph, or here

I saw the vision and it was highly conclusive as I pointed out in a previous thread, deliberate and callous, there were shakes of heads all round in the FFA office tonight, I found it very hard to hold it together interviewing him Hope you told him to get ready for plenty of abuse tomorrow!

Lawrie just put the call out on NBN news: Give Reddy Hell.
He played down the whole thing and said they'll just be getting on with it, but got his tongue in his cheek to finish up and said "I'm sure Liam Reddy's name will be at the end of a lot of tongues in the crowd and he might cop a bit"

Apparently Sully & Reddy are actually good friends, guess Reddy forgets things like that in the heat of battle.

Robbie and Neil thought it was all shits and f***in giggles on Total Football tonight. Said under their breath they thought he got off lightly then moved on. This should have been the biggest talking point in A-League this week. I wish there was an A-League related program with a ballsack! Maybe some decent opinions and actual insight into the tactics that will be employed when doing a preview, not 5 minutes of talking to Durante about sweet F-A then some more references about Robbie's playing career (we KNOW Robbie). I cant believe they had 15-20 minutes about a new football movie (this airtime MUST have been paid for) and didn't even talk to anyone from 2 of the 4 teams left. Barely mentioned the Mariners and the only reference to tactics was Neil saying he'd discussed it with Dick Money many times. Pass the info on brother! It's a shame the A-League is still small enough that we have to listen to the radio to get subjective commentary. /rant over

Yeh they need something like the AFL Footy Show where they talk about the footy and have guests from the clubs on and shit.. not the NRL Footy Show though where they put dresses on and shit

I'd rather see Eddie talk about the game than Fatty prance around in a dress

Make a special point of missing total Bling every week - it is the usual balanced and objective reporting that Fox is famous for.
Is there some reason why SBS cant/wont take more of an interest by having Les etc doing some "proper" journalism??
Maybe they do but some of us have lives on a Sunday afternoon

Yeah look there is definitely space for some variety. Channel 9 was getting right into it with the NRL with the Footy (Variety) Show on Thursdays, Boots'n'all comedy/nostalgia on Sunday, Sunday 'Review/Preview' Footyshow and the Sunday Roast with talking heads discussing relevant issues in the game.
Total Football shouldnt be looking at the Footy Show style because, well, football appeals to a different market than League and needs to cater to that market. But I do think it should either go one way or another, 'variety' (more player involvement, more tales of interest) or serious (previews, tactical analysis, in depth discussion of issues such as Reddy), because at the moment it does neither. Usually it is up to the general sports shows to provide random expert comments (pardon the interruption, that other one on fox sports) but i saw what those wankers knew about football during the world cup win and never tuned in again.

A weekly Mariners show on one of the local radio stations would be fantastic - they must have an hour to spare somewhere and finding material (during the season) wouldnt be too hard.
Any gaps can be filled with phone ins etc. Great way to build yet another bridge into our community.
Another media for club sponsors too

That's why I said the AFL footy show, not the NRL one - the NRL one they don't even mention the game, it's like Hey Hey it's the Footy Show or some shit. They do an hour of crap and 10 seconds of previews where they flash up on the screen who's playing and shout out tips. On the AFL one they talk about the footy, issues like Reddy would have been raised, players get on there and crap on for a bit. IMO That's what's needed, nothing too "serious" either like boring c**ts sitting there reading out stats like its parliament or something.

^^^Perfect then. I haven't really watched it (besides to put myself to sleep since it's on nice and late) but sounds good. And defintely sounds achievable for Total Football.
greenpole! 2CCC 96.3 Saturdays 7-7:30am. Game on! Mariners show.
