According to sources in Scotland, Ferguson has been sounded out for a return to his old club, Dungfermline, to fill their vacant manager role.
He made a huge impact off the field in his 2 years with the Pars.

if he did go, would that open it up to 'keep' mori on in that role (as fergie was supposed to be 'player' / coach originally) ?

Wouldn't read too much into this speculation - over the course of the past week, there have been half a dozen or more names mentioned for the Dunfermline job.....this always happens in the UK when a club in one of the top divisions loses its manager.
Dunfermline, themselves, have said they're in no hurry to hire anyone....and given that they're second last in the league, I'd doubt they'd want to take a chance on someone who's never managed a team before.
FERGIE MUST STAY!!!!!!

would really hate to see fergie leave the club but it would leave the door open for viddy or mori to become part of the coaching team

would really hate to see fergie leave the club but it would leave the door open for viddy or mori to become part of the coaching team If I had to speculate, I'd say that Mori would be a good choice. He's already been coaching a while with Adelaide City (?) for the last two seasons I know of, but whether he could make a commitment fulltime to move to the Central Coast (contractual and family matters) would be another issue. Maybe if Butcher gets the boot from Bling, he may feel a need to learn how to coach properly and decide to spend a year under Lawrie ;D if Fergie does leave. On second thought, FERGIE DON"T GO!!!!!!

Well if it comes down to it there are plenty of players here with the qualifications but I'll really miss Fergie, he adds alot to this side.

Im sure if he was to leave a certain Mr Tobin could fill the number 2 spot and Mr Petrie would slot in at seasons end.

That's what I would imagine happening, given Petrie has all the qualifications.

Mori is too tied up with Adelaide still to continue here.
I think SP would certainly take up a role. If Viddy falls in love with the lifestyle he'd be a chance too and a very welcome addition to the Central Coast football set up.

Wasnt SP being touted as the person to head up the Mariners youth set up?

Wasnt SP being touted as the person to head up the Mariners youth set up? Correct. A Mariners youth academy based on the coast. Matt Carroll on Totalitarian Football seemed to hint that a youth/reserve league was very much in the pipeline for 07/08. Not exactly a full fledged youth academy but it's a step in that direction, so depending on how many youngsters are brought into clubs to fill the ranks, SP may as well start from there as youth team coach.
