I believe these blokes were on a one year loan.
Does that mean we will get them back for next season. I heard that Heffo hasn't played any first team Footy and Beauchamp has only just broken into the side. So maybe Heffernan will be released back to us. He will be a more polished player after a year in europe.
Would be a nice back four :
Wilko Beauchamp Vidmar Heffernan Subs: Sully/O'Grady/Clarkey/Boogard

I heard Heff came home for Christmas - maybe he's homesick

They both came home because it was the layoff in germany. Beauchamp will be picked up by Nurnberg and i think heff will try another european side in a weaker league.

There was a story around int helast week or so, that said that Beauchamp is going to be picked up by Nurnberg. Heffernan is in the lower grades for Nurnberg and now has a licence to play those grades as a foreign player. I think it was Lawrie who was quoted as saying that if Nurnberg don't pick up Heff, Heff may try another club, but if all else fails maybe back in April. As he has this licence and is a pretty handy player to have I'd imagine he'd find a club somehwere in Germany.

When Meggzi signs for Nuremberg does anyone know the fee that was agreed to be paid to the Mariners? I thought it was in the region of $500k? If so those funds will certainly help us!

When Meggzi signs for Nuremberg does anyone know the fee that was agreed to be paid to the Mariners? I thought it was in the region of $500k? If so those funds will certainly help us! there was some discussion on here mid-last year (as in, when the loan was sorted out to begin with) about whether we would be receiving a fee negotiated at the beginning or end of the loan term. i don't think the question was ever resolved. meggz is going great now, having started in the last 4 league matches and their last cup match as well. he'd surely be getting a gig (and you'd think if he's starting regularly in one of the top leagues in the world he wouldn't be that far off a regular socceroos starting spot), but heff seems to be a fair way from the first team though, and i'd be a little surprised if he gets a gig. i, for one, would be very happy to see him back in yellow, but i can understand why he might not be so happy, and might want to either stick it out in germany or try another OS league.

I just have a feeling Heff would be good in the Dutch league with a mid-range team (like FC Twente where luke wilkshire is). i don't know why but i think he would be good there.

yeah heff is good enough to make it in a lower team like u said, he would still earn more than CCM would be paying and opportunity to move to bigger clubs if he excels

No disrepect to Heff as i'd love to have him back with us BUT I don't think he will be a success in Europe. He is not technically gifted enough.
He should forget wallowing in reserve grade in Norway etc and come back to regular first team Footy at CCM where he is a hero (and my daughter's fav player).

I can see heff playing in a lesser competition (danish, swedish etc). He isnt good enough for the stronger leagues in europe but should be able to get a gig somewhere else. Also a big deciding factor is the dosh he will be getting for playing over there. Would be significantly bigger then anything we could offer him and i will not hold that against him as he has a future to be thinking of.

Seems Mori may move to Sydney fukn hell whos next on his list of clubs. . the list of who is next is obviously getting smaller . give the guy a break though, he doesn't really have much time left to collect the full set . but at the current rate, if he can hang in there for a couple of seasons, he will get there

In the paper today, it says that Meggsy has put pen-to-paper on a lucrative two year at FC Nurnberg. It also says that Heff has returned from his trial at Kilmarnock, ]"and he is considering returning to the mariners next season after struggling to win a first-team spot in the Bundesliga"
