We all know that Spenny will be on his way and his problems in season two but I would like to thank and acknowledge Spenny for his contribution to the Mariners.
He was our inuagural skipper and his contribution in that first season was the difference between making the semis and not.
His goals against Perth, Sydney and Melbourne (2) got us six points by my reckoning.
Nice bloke, and while being shy and not as outgoing as some of the squad, was always polite and respectful.
Thanks Spenny

That's one of the Marinators end of season winners on their way out of the club. Let's hope it's not the beginning of a kiss of death for Marinator recepients.

well done for the first season spenny, and it is a hard decision when his season has been a bit pear shaped for v2. but well done and just asking is spenny off to the bling?

The goal against Sydney still rates as one of my all time highs in football.

Spencer did a tremendous amount of work behind the scenes especially in the first year! Attending schools and promoting a new team on the coast was not an easy task and was very time consuming. We wish you all the best in the future but not when you play against the Mariners

Is he definitely going? I've always considered him to be a valuable assett to the team, even with V2 form considered. Thanks Spenny! The goal against Sydney still rates as one of my all time highs in football. X2

This seems a bit premature to me. I'd wait for confirmation Spenny is in negotiations with another a-league club, we won't be seeing him next season in a Mariners shirt.

DJ, if that club is Sydney FC I ask that you please contact me via PM so that I can get on the phone to Terry and tell him what he's doing. I will pay $$$ and/or beer. If it not SFC, kindly disregard.

It's on the Mariners Website. They have released Spenny, Tomasevic and- why oh why - Sully.

It's on the Mariners Website. They have released Spenny, Tomasevic and- why oh why - Sully. opening up spots for prospective signings of non-Australian players is my guess. i think a 4 man limit's coming in. we have a scot (petrie), a german (gumps), an englishman (mcmaster - played youth internationals, don't know whether he counts, may have re-declared his nationality under what i'll call the cahill rule) and an irishman (sully) at the moment taking up all 4 spots. an englishman, an irishman, a scot and a german all walk into a football club...

Mcmaster is an Australian as all you need is an Aussie passport not to be a visa player
