i dunno, i quite liked the penalty spot! I predict a Ninja raid on Mingara one night when the only thing taken is the patch of turf that has the penalty spot on it. ;D Are you Aloisi in disguise? goldenboy will do the raid for me, with 100% crouching tiger hidden dragon floaty kicky magic action.

This question is a little off topic but I thought while your talking about pitches i'd ask it here. What is the expansion limit on Bluetongue Central Coast Stadium? I know sydney's stadium is being upgraded and I was thinking if it is possible to upgrade Bluetongue.

They are making the sfs bigger? Seems stupid. Does anyone fill that thing currently? To an extent where they couldnt move to aussie? If the sfs gets bigger, Sydney should be thinking about parramatta stadium.

I think it is fair to say bluetongue has expansion capacity. But it is not needed currently. I doubt it would happen for quite some time.

This question is a little off topic but I thought while your talking about pitches i'd ask it here. What is the expansion limit on Bluetongue Central Coast Stadium? I know sydney's stadium is being upgraded and I was thinking if it is possible to upgrade Bluetongue. there are a couple of problems: - the ground is hemmed in by the roads, the railway line and the bowling club, - it costs a lot of money that nobody really has lying around just at the moment - there's no real need yet, as we're not filling in week in week out however, should they ever get to the point where we are expanding, we'd be looking to extend the 2nd tier all the way around the northern end i imagine, which would take some pretty creative engineering to go over the top of the stabling lines off the side of the railway line, plus it would mean booting the bowling club out. it could be partly financed through developing the remaining quadrant of that block into - a large office type complex similar to the workcover building over the road, or - additional parking capacity could be put in (though serious thought would have to be given to surrounding roads), or - a hotel/casino combo could be done like has been done in so many european grounds now (google coventry city's new 'ricoh arena'). but i wouldn't expect us to need it til we're selling the place out half a dozen times a year at least, and maybe have an nrl franchise on the central coast too.

Forget NRL, just sell it out several times a year during the HAL home/away season!!! (could happen in '08-'09 after mariners win the double in '07-08!!!) According to Wikipedia capacity is 20,059 Stage 1: 2nd level northern stands (? + members club, merch shop, etc.) Stage 2 (distant future): enough room for a southern stand? ? Haha we can all dream. anyway, what was the topic again?!!!

Haha we can all dream. anyway, what was the topic again?!!! wiki's wrong, but there's a bit of debate on there. capacity is actually 20119, the confusion with numbers is that 20059 was the crowd for the 'derby' opening match between the northern eagles and the knights there back in 2000. stage 1 - that sounds about right stage 2 - very hard to do. there's a quite short distance between the southern fence and the road - about 15m or so. the northern end is about 20m deep, so you see there's a very limited space there. that also includes the footpath and palm trees, none of which i think would be allowed to be demolished. the road's hard to move because it links up with the bridge (which at $20 million in 1995 dollars is almost as expensive as the $30 million stadium we play in). you might add a stage 0.5 - building a roof of sorts over as much of the northern end as possible to offer cover and shade for fans in hot or wet weather. and noise projection for us!

There is a 4. Demolish a side and create a bigger one. Not sure if there is enough room. But maybe. Expensive would be the problem. But expansions cost money

most of that is actually just bringing the sides and especially the ends closer to the pitch. the upper decks have another 2 rows or something as well - boosts the number of expensive tix they can sell for waratahs matches.

i was at luna park doing a site inspection for a function venue the other day and they showed me a kids room that had all the NRL mascots painted on the wall
i mentioned to the lady showing me the venue that these paintings might not be appropriate given the history and criminal offences against children by some of the mascots
