I understand the additional cost of opening earlier if the had lightning games but maybe its worth considering if a big crowd is expected??
Opening an hour before kick off against SFC and Adelaide (the Romario game) and on NYE caused a lot of hot and unhappy punters to wait outside.
What will they do when there is a reserve/youth league game to stage??

Is that the "tremendous costs" Lyall is referring to? I assume stadium rental doesn't factor into that guesstimate, and it's mainly comprised of staffing costs? I note that Lyall says, "...if we can create a financial model that makes it worthwhile, it’s something that we’d certainly consider." I reckon this would be a very good thing to happen, so given what I asusme is your uni study in this regard, any ideas Mick? Off the top of my head I'm thinking $3000 is an extra 200 GA people through the gate. As to whether or not a Lightning game could be bundled with a Mariners game to offer extra value for your buck and attract further punters is probably debatable, but surely a marketing angle at the least? I'm thinking maybe 4 kiddie games on quarter field at half time of the Lightning game, and perhaps even the Mariners game, may be another 100 odd parents through the gate to start with. But no doubt Lightning would expect some of that dosh, but then so too could they bare some of the costs, perhaps via increased potential to gain sponsorship. Then there's potential extra income through services agreements, to questionable levels through an expected smaller crowd number for the Lightning game? Then you'd probably need to get inventive. I vote for Blue Tongue to halve their price of beer for the first half of the Lightning match.

Does the lighting play many games during mariners season anyway?

Does the lighting play many games during mariners season anyway? Great idea, but probably no way to make it happen - except an isolated one-off or a Lightning Trial game. 1. Seasons hardly overlap - 2 weeks at most - and who knows what FFA and SNSW will dream up in future. 2. Getting SNSW to agree to dates and times 3. Getting CCFA sorted 4. Getting FFA to agree 5. Then there is the stuff Lyle said Like asking the stars and moon to align - not propitious

We move to bigger squads this season and that means more players not getting game time.
Maybe we could play a "reserve friendly" against Bling/Scum when we have home games against them??
Pick the players who are out of the 1st team and add a few unsigned fringe players. Would benefit the players and provide a relevant "double header".
They would have to agree but I'm sure it would add another 200 to the gate?? or we need to find a $3k sponsor for it.

I dont think it will bring more people in in my opinion. But that is not to say i dont want it to happen. Though would work best if for at least the first half drinks were cheaper at the stadium. I dont need to go in 90 minutes earlier and pay game prices for beers. Would rather drink more pints at the kendall.

Would never happen, far too risky for injuries, despite the squad size increase this season. And as for Lightning playing before Mariner games, as mentioned above, they and the now the $1.? million debt ridden, cash strapped, mis-managed Central Coast Football are in nowhere near a position to pull it off. Central Coast United tried to play out of Blue Tongue at the beginning of their last year in Premier League, failed miserably and couldn't and didn't pay the bill. And not forgetting, Lightning still have to claw there way back to Premier League, couldn't get out of Super League last season.

Yeah, anyone who says anything about Lighting chipping in with cash has got to be on crack. On top of the whole money problem, apparently they just went and sacked their grounds person... who happened to be a volunteer.
"Sorry but your free services are no longer required." Did they want him to turn the draught off or something?
