I went for: Danny - 3 Wilko - 2 Gumps - 1 (even though he was injured for a spell, his influence on the team is so huge, I thought he was worth a place in the top 3.) The backing for Kwas suprises me in some ways, but not in others. The majority of the forum, from what I've seen, think he will be an important part of the team next season, most probably in some kind of midfield role. I don't - I REALLY hope he proves me wrong, but I've been hoping the same thing for 4 or 5 years now between supporting Spirit & The Mariners. When you followed Spirit did you sit in the Bob Stand? Sorry for the late reply - must have missed your post last week. Anyway, no, I wasn't in the Bob Stand. Sat in one of the stands along the pitch - the one to the right if you were looking out from the Bob Stand.

I'm not bagging anyone out. I also had enough of THAT thread... I'll remain quiet. When do we find out the winner of 'player of the year'?

i get the feeling that if u have two separate polls for best and worst player, kwasnik would possibly win them both

I don't think the member player will get announced on preso night. Preso night is Goal of the Year Golden Boot Chairmans player and Players Player (unless they change it this yr)

Presumably a note to the final 6 from the Mariners website, is the poll asking who will win the Mariners Medal. Macca? SP? Viddie? Wilko? Kwassie? Danny?

from mariners website.
Vukovic named Members Player of the Year Thursday, 5 April, 2007 - 12:30PM
Danny VukovicRecently crowned Central Coast Mariners Medalist Danny Vukovic has added another trophy to his burgeoning awards cabinet – the Mariners Members Player of the Year.
Vukovic collected 31% of the votes received from Mariners Members’, who were asked to submit choices for the Mariners’ first, second and third best performed players of the 2006/07 Hyundai A-League season.
Recently announced Mariners captain Alex Wilkinson finished second after collecting 18% of votes, while last season’s winner, German midfielder Andre Gumprecht, again featured prominently – finishing third with 10% of the votes received.
Mariners Golden Boot winner Adam Kwasnik finished fourth (7%), while Damien Brown, the Mariners’ historic first ever signing, rounded out the top five (4%).
"I’m very honoured and flattered to have been recognised by our Members, it’s always nice to receive personal awards," said Vukovic.
"The last season was a great one for me on a personal level, but, of course, we would have loved to have achieved more as a team.
"Having had the taste of finals football in the first season, my teammates and I are more determined then ever to qualify for the top four in season three and we took our first step last night at Pluim Park with a win in the Central Coast Challenge Cup.
"We’ve got three great new signings to look forward to joining us – we’ve obviously already seen how good Mile Jedinak can be, and with Sasho Petrovski and Greg Owens, we have recruited some of the best attacking players in Australia.
"There’s a lot of hard work to come between now and the start of the season, but the ultimate goal that we’ll all be aiming for is to not only make the top four, but go one better than our achievement in the first season."
