i dont think we need him, only reason to sign him would be to rub it into the jets

I don't think he would add anything much to our squad except backup? I hope it is only speculation anyway.

My IT boss here at work is Eagleton's uncle - I'll get him to ask.

Iv said to many people many times that I would love to see him here. I think he is at least as good as the defence we have, and would add a nice attacking option up the wing. Yes please, any day.

I don't think he's the best player but we do need a player in that position.
He isn't going to add much in the skill department but he won't stop running or trying.
Come to think of it, that sounds a bit like Sully.
We should only sign him as a last resort.

He's a right fullback, so saying if we can't get Heff (left fullback) then he might do, is a bit odd. They say he has a quick first 10 metres, so he may fit the bill as Sully's replacement. Apparently already lives on the Central Coast, if you believe the Squadron's posts in their thread as linked above.

Not odd at all because he can also play on the left. Eag's age is irrelevant to what I was saying. I was saying we need cover in the outside back position as both clarky and browny are getting on and injury prone. He is far quicker than Sully.

if he's not too exxy, i'd think about taking him. and i'd send a message to heff that if he doesn't make a call soon, he might have one less option.
he's a solid enough player, and doesn't stop working. i'd be happy to play him at lb/rb, goes in as another option.
and he's a cult figure to some of the squadron, so it'd be so much fun to have another bit of spice to add to that derby, after already getting saso from sydney.

Heff has at least til the 1st of April to make that decision, as that is The germans formal decision on the 31st or march. Id say Lawrie will have made that Heffs time to choose too

I actually rate Eagleton - very pacy and capable of a decent ball in. Not the best fullback, but in a league devoid of them you could do far worse.
He's better than Clark, Porter or Wilkinson at fullback (your other RB options at present)

Wilko is a CB and being captain will play in the middle. Porter is a better CM and Clark can play RB or CB. I wouldn't mind a new RB but I think we can do better than Eagleton, but at the end of the day it all comes down to availability.

Having watched Eagleton play in a few games last season I rate him very highly - never stops working and has enough pace to skin quite a few players down the right-hand wing......... I specifically remember him repeatedly owning Sydney (in the rain) during their game up there in the middle of the season, and it wasn't flukey or because of someone slipping over - this guy has got genuine pace. And I think he'd fit in well with our whole "never stop working" and "no dickhead" policies.
As a sidenote - he'd be happy to play down here as well........ not only does he live in the area but the Jets really dicked him around last year with the whole "not quite sure if you will or won't maybe or maybe not play this weekend" deal. That, and they started Okon (PFT!!!) and Durrante ahead of him repeatedly when he'd played and trained his arse off all week.
In short - I'd love to have him here.
*Edit* Just spoke to Eagleton's cousin (I know I said uncle before - they're nearly the same thing) - he said that the Mariners are waiting on the word from Heffernan. If Heff doesn't come back, then Eagleton is a go. He said that he's been dicked around by Newcastle and he wants a go somewhere else. Good ol' "word on the street".

If we can't get Heff, i'd take Eagelton. Didn't like that clip on youtube where said he'l never play for the mariners and he hates them. But that could soon change.

Not only is Eagleton a decent player but he is a nice bloke as well. He has the right attitude and would fit in very well with the current squad. He is a local as well - he lives at Blue Haven. I'd be very happy to have him.
