Check out the link to the pdf on the www.ccmariners.com.au home page. To sum it up, play golf at Magenta shores on Tues 15 May and each group of four will include a Mariner. Plus lunch, bevs etc. $165 per player. Why do they price all their events higher than a punter's season ticket? I'm not saying $165 is bad value for a full day up close and personal with a player plus the food and everything. I'm also not saying that the club doesn't get out there enough because the school visits attest to that. But more things in between that don't price the majority of fans out of it but serve to give us that little bit more feeling of involvement would be nice imo. The wealthy contacts get more events in a year than members.

Good value for money when compared to the presentation night. I wonder how many punters can play on a Tuesday. Could be a small field.

The wealthy contacts get more events in a year than members. You make a valid point Brett. Also, I think the people who can afford it aren't that fussed about playing 18 holes with a Mariner. It's more the people who can't afford it who would probably get more out of being able to spend a few hours with their favourite Mariner. I guess an expensive function will draw less people, which in terms of golf is probably a good thing. If they made it really cheap, potentially hundreds could RSVP and the club might not be able to cater for that amount of people at this particular type of function.

Considering the course they are playing is $80 a round, plus all the extras I think $165.00 isn't too bad. Tuesday is a crappy day thou for most people.
Magenta Shores are a club sponsor so the club have to look after them too.
I kind of see where your coming from with your last point but being a member I personally am happy with the post match functions I can attend as well as the Mariners Open Day etc.....
There was talk that the Marinators and a few players would have a putt putt day at Mingara last year, perhaps this is something that we could look into for the near future?

For a course of that expense, I agree with Mick that $165.00 is OK value.
I'd love to go, but as mentioned earlier, it being on a Tuesday makes it impossible for most of us.

As I said in my first post, I also think the $165 is not bad value for that particular day out. The club will make some $ too which is great.
Most people can't splash more than their season ticket's worth of dosh just for a one off event though.
It would be great if there were more 'extra-cirricular' activites for the average Mariners fan.

The Mariners probably aren't the best golers, because the two best placed teams neither featured a mariners player. Gumprechts team came 3rd. Sasho 4th and Ossy 5th.
