Something that ive often wondered is just how many copies of the Mariners strips do they have ready to play in at any given time? (ALl A-league clubs for that matter) Also, how often do you think they are washed and re-used before a new copy is issued, and do you think the bigger clubs overseas ever wash and re-use uniforms or are they given new ones every game?
What are your thoughts?

If you happen to see Joe Spiteri around ask him these questions, he's the Mariners gear steward. Roddy, Grunta, KeithSaffron and Rodent had an interesting chat to Joe at the Canberra Casino when the Mariners played Sydney a couple of weeks back. Apparently a lot of bleach is used ;D My guess is that Reebok would issue a certain number of the clothing they need and if stuff ends up stolen, lost in airline transit or whatever, Joe would just ring them up and get a new batch. The club would probably have to pay for replacements tho.

I have seen the Mariners uniform at the dry cleaners in the mall at The Enrance where the RTA is. It would appear that the guy there is the one who gets the uniform back to pristine condition every week. Well that's what he did last year. Is he still doing it this year? I don't know

I read an article in 442 with QLD roars gear steward. He said the club had to buy their strip so they only had 2 home and 2 away jerseys for the whole season!!

The club had to BUY their strip? What the hell? If that's the case then why do we have to use Reebok?
I reckon they must get a certain amount and maybe they have to pay for the ones over and above the 2 + 2.

uniforms? Theyre not students Get with times Forza, ;D Corporate Unfiroms for when they are travelling away and in a group, makes them look a lot more professional than a bunch of guys grabbing their bags decked out in assorted colours of trackie daks and casual clothing. Crowe had the Sth Sydney NRL guys dressed in Armani suits FFS!

I reckon they must get a certain amount and maybe they have to pay for the ones over and above the 2 + 2. Because that was part of the FFA's agreement with reebok. Subsequently also an agreement the clubs made when they decided they wanted a franchise.
