Last Wednesday night George Negus was voted on to the Mariners board.
it is massive news to have someone so connected and experienced to be part of a very impressive team.

thats a suprise, his son Ned is one of the key guysin the Cove Nedstaa was in season one drifted away from the cove in season two and used to join his old man in the directors box season three will support the mariners but he said he will be fairly neutral said that sydney fc is longer a "club" |

fair enough, i do recall him being really heavily involved in SFC at one point... would be good to have someone like him in the bay but i can understand if he doesnt join in

You have a great visionary shareholder in the form of Pete Turnball, and he along with Bugno is what made me love SFC so much in Season 1...The business (poorly run i might add) they are now is not the club that i started supporting, hence myself or Negsy in no way feel like traitors by jumping ship!
Mick-- Surely Roddy can get over something that happened a good two years ago...The difference between a 19 year old just out of school and a 21 year old in 3rd year uni is vast...

One Mariners insider says Sydney have only themselves to blame if Central Coast begin to target the football associations on the outer reaches of Sydney. “Sydney don't appear to have any desire to expand their influence and role into the grassroots into the game,” he said. Central Coast Chairman and major investor Lyall Gorman and Peter Turnbull were spotted in Sydney last week. The pair said they were “talking with locals about the club”. And at board level, the Mariners may be expanding too with the possibility that TV broadcaster George Negus is set to be offered a role with the club. Negus is a longtime football fan and it's known he is an associate of ex-Sydney FC director, Peter Turnbull.
