Anyone see the World Game Sunday arvo?
They had an A-League preview and Orsatti basically rides off the Mariners' chances.
Francis went to town on him saying that he is totally wrong and that the Mariners have a massive chance with the excellent signings they have made.

Yeah, was quite funny. Les didn't have us in his top four.
Seemed to be a lot of pandering to certain teams.
Also watching Awaratife putting Perth in his top four was funny. They all gave him crap about his spat with the glory boys from v1.

Yeah, I saw this. We were then ranked very highly in their ladders though (except Les).
Well done to Francis for defending us as not just a physical, grind-out-results side as Orsatti strongly implied.
In version one we played very entertaining stuff. In version two it was hard with a midfield being dominated and a blunt attack, but we still did try to play good stuff. We were never a long ball or overly defensive side.
Thank god the time for talking is almost over and the boys can hopefully now prove all the good things we've been saying about them for the last few months.

Sydney won't come first - they are also paying 3.75 at the TAB which I find surprising.
It's so tight to call this year we have a tight comp for sure!
Probably won't look like this but I would have to go for :
1. Melbourne (still have a very strong squad despite a poor pre-season) 2. Adelaide (Look stronger and quicker than last year) 3. QLD (Will be very solid at the back) 4. Mariners (Should put chances away this year) 5. Sydney (Will be inconsistent IMO) 6. Newcastle (Will be inconsistent, their SA will either fire shots or blanks) 7. Perth (Looked good in pre-season but depth may be their issue) 8. Wellington (unknown quantity could turn a few heads?)
I can really see positions 3 to 8 being very tight.

Yeah I saw Francis' defense of the Mariners on SBS. He thought we played entertaining fast football. He had a grin on his face when the top 4 graphics came up he had Perth well placed. Basically said he had to find a way to get back into their good books! Agree that this year may be very tight, and the 3 match format over the season will be a winner, as I can see Finals spots all up for grabs coming into the last two rounds, with teams taking one win off each other, one loss, and the final round being who gets ahead of who. A top 4 finish will make me happy with what the Mariners have done over the off season.

I think Wellington will come last, hopefully with Jets second last.
We should finish in top four. I'm a little worried about our defence if we get any injuries. I think we will score alot of goals this season.
