IS THERE A POSSIBILITY OF A BRAZILIAN MOVING ONTO THE CENTRAL COAST.? ? ? IN todays ABSW a para says that there is a huge rumour doing the rounds at the moment that the Central Coast Mariners could be looking to add one more player to their roster. It could be an attacking midfielder and the options are in either Brazil or Africa.

I don't think we really need another attacking midfielder. However in saying that, if this were true and it was a quality player, it would be a good move. It may even result in us getting some recognition from dickheads like Orsatti and Foster.

gay i hope not i was really hoping that the mariners could show the a-league that we have the strength without imports to take the competition on and do some real damage

IMO nationality shouldn't come into if we have enough foreign spots left, and that player is good enough to play for us.

Also, I highly doubt they are in anyway related, but this recently popped up on the 442 rumour mill.

I think QLD have been dangerous every year, will be again this year. But as with previous years, depends if they can score a fair amount of their chances

I think it's more he doesn't want "black" foreigners, because he doesn't appear to have any issue with Gumprecht. There's 4 foreign spots so we can use them and there's nothing wrong with other clubs using them, with that limit it won't be like the EPL where some squads have more foreigners than nationals (or at least more capable of being in the starting XI) which I do think is where a problem can come in (mind you even if the A-League didn't put that limit in I can't see it happening here)

Calm down bucko.
It's ambiguous, but I wouldn't call Andre an 'import' in the context of our recruitment policy. He was in the country and the Australian league long before we signed him.
We are very much a locally focussed side, and shipwreck is entitled to express joy at this ethos without unnecessary racist undertones.
Personally, as I have said previously, I think all teams, including us, should have a balance of imports and local talent. That's just me.
