Another 3pts in the Bag!

Well done boys, another 3pts in the bag and we stay a minimum of 4pts clear at the end of this round.

My observations:

Trotty looked very shakey in the first half then pulled off two fantastic saves to keep the 3pts. Well done.

Defence was good, especially Boogs.

Midfield worked hard but was swamped. Gumpy should have come into the middle to shore things up. Hutcho played well but would have been better on the flank.

Kwas scored a good set piece goal and works very hard but I still would prefer Tommy to be starting.

Jedi had another top game but his fitness appears to drop off after 50-60 mins (probably because he works so hard). Maybe Owens should have been brought on.

Nik & Sasho looked like a handful and were combining really well, if they were playing for QLD we would have lost by 3 or 4.

Against the better teams we need to be more dominant in the middle of the park.

Overall a bit of a lucky win. A typically gutsy Mariners effort saw us home and I'm cheering!

No need to start a new thread, but since it's here I'll just add something to wombats comments.

Tommy was actually going to be dropped for this game until Owens got a late injury, we don't see what goes on in training and Lawrie will always put the best 11 on the pitch that he feels is available based on current form and hard work.

Still plenty for us to work on.............nice to see we are getting the results but still realising there's still work to be done to improve, other teams are only going to get better and we need to do the same.
