*wishes for the day when we get to talk about players coming here, not when will they be poached by bigger clubs from overseas* That's my dream, too, Serious, but that's in the same category as the one I have about getting to know Natalie Bassingthwaite better . There is simply not enough money in team sport in Australia, in total, to keep a good midfielder or striker in our League if the likes of Chelsea, Man U or Real Madrid see them first. Best we can hope for, to be realistic, is a well established League that offers very good competition. This would enable our younger players to become better developed before they do move overseas. Our clubs would then benefit from the better transfer fee an established and developed player would attract. And in that aspect, Lawrie has done very well in having Beauchamp snapped up in v1, and with Danny coming off contract, and Boogs, Wilko and Jedi all young and playing well too, there's more on offer I guess. Heff may even get another chance OS in the near future if he gets an offer, and he's on a 3 year deal.
