I can't remember seeing Clarky play a bad game at CB for us. I can't remember him playing a great game at RB. We should look at Porter or Brown as a back up right back and keep Clarky central. He was good there against Perth recently imo. fair points but I would have Wilko, Boogs, Vidmar and Stringers ahead of him as CB any day.

Yep, but hence the difficulty of next week with none of those four available!

Why not gumps down to right back? He has been playing fairly defensively, is fast, and works hard. Could handle the job. Clarkey in the middle for sure.

Clarkey in the middle for sure. . gumpy at the back worries me - he is not a defender and if beaten tends to give the tactical foul . don't get me wrong, i love the guy and think he reads the game better than most but when you are the last line of defence and you don't have size to help you out and hide a couple of indiscretions i think tactical fouls will soon become red and nasty . if you were to go that way i think tommy would be a better option (although still not to my liking) but their attacking flair is likley to get either of them caught out of position

jedi played a good game as a CB today. i feel that he will be best suited to that role when we are down our main 3 or 4 CB's are away due to injury, suspension or in the case of next game international selection. it has to be: Osman-------Clark-------Jedi------Heffernan

Tonights performance by the back four has slightly eased my fears for this game.
It's ashame we'll lose Boogs and Danny.
Heff...Jedi...Clarky...Ossy .............Trott
That should be the back 5 next week IMO.

i have complete confidence in trott as he had a blinder against qld in his last game so im not as concerned as much about losing danny as i am about anymore mishaps in our defensive line especially losing boogs.

Losing Boogs is a real worry for me....we've come to heavily rely on him pretty damn quickly. Because of the Olyroos game (and other reasons) we're now down....4 defenders???
Trott in goal is a given. As for the rest of the defence, how about Clark at right back....maybe Jedi & Osman in the middle and Heff on the left......?
Also, is Brownie injured? Would be tempted to switch him and Heff around, so that Deano is further up the pitch.

o ok, well ian could always play cdm, his terrier like attributes would come in handy to mark a player out the game, win the 50-50 balls.
I just like to see young guys get a go and show there worth, plus I have connections through futsal with him.

Mate, it is going to be a while until we see McAndrew play for us.
Midfield is the most occupied position in the squad and there is a lot of quality players in there and players that are returning from injury e.g. Owens.
Plus, our temporary captain, John Hutchinson, is in brilliant form playing at CDM. I doubt McAndrew ill take his spot.
