Battle of the banners...simply put, we won. This is the stunning effort from the scum. Some quite rightly called it the 'Skid Mark on the Underpants' banner. Only the Scum could come up with something that lame. Here's our response:

Just reading through the garbage that is their forum...... Apparently we suck as a supporters group because we don't have many banners. Also, we don't chant much because we're afraid of offending our "sponsors". Just dropped a massive flamebait in there, feel free to go forth and read...... www.newcastlefootball.net/forum/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=4586&start=90

I find it funny that all of the Scumcastle Bogans call us the Gypsies. However every other team in the league, calls them the Gypsies.

I'm with Thegreenpea. How is that insulting? I don't get it. What next, are they going to call us fat and stupid? Now wouldn't that be really nasty? LOL

Best turnout by them so far, not nearly as many as Bling and they almost matched Adelaide for the Romario game. I took some pics (and all I now need to do is workout how to upload them) so we can refute the "there were 2,000 of us" crap we will doubtless get.
2/300 tops

Banners are easy to knock up I did the larger Bogan banner in an hour and Bears is the smaller one.We need a little more piss taking in the bay so have a go and knock one up, its easy.

I'd guess it's something to do with the low regard people living in the UK and parts of Europe have towards the Gypsies. Gypsies are regarded as thieves and scammers by many over there.

While it was nice to see that you guys have discovered the wonder of the banner, a truer reflection of 'The Battle of the Banners' may be seen when you compare your banners to this picture of our effort. A little more impressive than your three banner effort? We owned the Marinators, pure and simple.

I have it on good authority that 'gypsies' is a reference to the fact that most of your collective have travelled from other places and other clubs, namely the Rowdies of Newcastle and the Northern Spirit supporters from the North Shore.

Funny that the squadron is getting so bonerific over finally bringing enough to match our support at Gosford, even though we've been matching them since season one at their place, owned them in the final up there and pwned them in every game at Bluetongue until now.
Credit to them for finally making the derby worthy of such a title.
But to celebrate a draw, particularly against an understrength Mariners who are above them on the ladder, to move down a place on the ladder, and to have the A-League's biggest knob in your team...is there that much to be cheery about?
It's the second time they've left our stadium singing '1-0 and you f***ed it up'...is football support about trying to put a positive spin on things so you can 'rub it in' and try to feel good about yourself?
Do they just not care that much about the result...are they just that in love with themselves or just in love with mediocrity?

Great picture there Todd. Care to highlight in that picture which one is you, and which one is Loudy? ;D I'm somewhere near the 'Super Matty Thompson' banner. If you're looking to identify me in person, young Stephen will be of assistance. Loudy is omnipotent - he's here, he's there, he's everywhere!
