The centre midfield is our best place. Who would you drop? Tommy, gumps, jedi? We have owens, who is no doubt above ian on the pecking order, hence his being on the bench. He has quite a way to go to break the lineup, without more disasters for our central defence. I fully agree

Macca is a stronger player in a position where he can read play (sweeper or defensive midfield), height in those positions tends to be a bonus rather than a necessity. I think he has an opportunity to spend 12 months to try it out, which most people would kill for. I wish that he takes a full 100% go at this as he does have potential & most coasties get limited chances. Most of us older guys have major regrets at not (push a button): 1. pushing ourselves harder 2: making a commitment 3: having the $ 4: travelling to Sydney etc. 5. ...Something to do with the spouse... ---- (this has all gotta to be passe at the local) ----
We have to applaud a local to have a go & the gaffer for giving him the op.

ian mcandrew is one of the greatest blokes you will ever meet in ur life (so ive heard) i was actually looking foward to meeting this young up and commer after the mighty mamouth mariners unfortunate 1-0 defeat to the loud roaring queensland roar. roar. i believe that he was very unlucky to be over looked by the genious that is L.McKinna. The young talentanted Mr Mcandrw reads the game aceptionaly well and could have been the spark that provided the extremely excellent illusive equaliser that would have brought the mighty mamouth mariners back to level terms. if only lawrie would blood this young star in to the A league atleast to show us mighty mamouth marinators wat he is capable of producing in the years to come.

He actually got told to warm up and he looked like he was sh*tting himself as he did so.
Wise that Lawrie didn't play him , I think, as one silly mistake could have caused another goal and McAndrew would have been blamed. The game was pretty intensive on the field and the stadium was up in arms a fair bit, not a good game to debut on.

However, you speak of silly mistakes, I think the ref made a few ;D

But if he made a mistake, he'd be pretty hard on himself and the game wasn't a good game to send someone out for the first time. And yes, the ref made more than a few mistakes...getting out of bed that morning for starters... ;D
