This is the f***ing dumbest thread ever! Bingo! The person who said Bluetongue would need to be shifted was spot on. Any Spirit fan on here will tell you the 'bigger market' in northern Sydney is illusory, and there is NO Stadium on the northside between Parramatta and SFS. There is a market but an hour drive or train trip will deliver it.

STOP PRESS!!! Local Radio has just broadcast the following: "" In breaking news, A-League team the Central Coast Mariners has announced it will move to Pittwater Rugby Park at seasons' end. The team will be renamed the Pittwater Ocean Orcas (or P.O.O. for short) and will have as its main sponsors the Insurance giant HIH and the American super-company Enron. The ground will be retitled the Beehive in honour of new No.1 ticket holder, Federal Member for Pittwater, the Hon. Bronwyn Bishop. In sensational developments, the P.O.O. has purchased the USS George H W Bush from the Seppos (see www.nn.northropgrumman.com/bush/) so Central Coast-based Sharkheads can catch the GHWB (that would be Dubya's daddy, for the uninformed) from Gosford, Woy Woy and Booker Bay to Palm Beach, with an underground connection to the Beehive. P.O.O. has ALREADY signed Ronaldo, Ronaldinho, Jardel, Mark Bosnich, Andrew Johns and Ben Cousins for their initial foray into the HAL. All of these players are known to be over the moon with delight."" You heard it here first, folks. Go Sharkheads!!!

LOL, I think it's brilliant that people were actually getting worried for a while there.
I guess sarcasm doesn't really come across the internet too well

The info you got had an error Regan. Apparently, the Central Coast Region has been trying for ages to be recognised as an official Regional Area by the Geographics Office of NSW. It seems that fundings from any Govt., stats from any Govt. agency, recognition of population growth etc. is split between northern Sydney and Newcastle regions for any Central Coast matters. Our public health system is tied in with Northern Sydney region, whereas the policing/crime stats are tied in with Newcatsle. Anyways, our region has been trying to get separation so the folks here can get the Govt. services we need, and stand up and be counted on our own merits. But I believe this has backfired on us. Recognising that there's land to be developed up here, and that building of new homes still continues, the Iemma Govt. can see that removing our stats. in these areas from the Sydney stats. will reveal that Sydney is going nowhere, and actually a depressed place to live in. So they have decided to make the Central Coast region a part of the Greater Sydney Metropolitan area. And so from next year, the Central Coast region will be a part of Sydney. So technically we just have to do nothing, but we are 'moving' to Sydney. Ha ha Got ya! Load of Bull!

Bollocks! That means some of us have to keep going up and down the F3 to get to games!
Was all set to ask the owners at the curry house if they wouldn't mind moving too, and then it would have been nicely set up!

I will happily limp around Bluetongue on Gamedays in a Mariners track suit muttering about how I would love to be out there but my leg hurts.
Far cheaper than the current job holder as well

moving their home stadium to Sydney yep and the actual stadium is being moved. it will take a few trucks to cart it down the F3 but now that we have cash to spend it shouldn't be a problem Palm trees aswell?? lol
